Is Britney's father around? I mean I never hear anything about him. It seems the mother is the one taking care of the clan. Where is he? I wonder how he feels with all the stuff Britney's been doing?

Britney grew up with both of her parents, and Britney's father used to do interviews and so on just like her mother, but until recently he has been out of the spotlight. I'm pretty sure the divorce caused him to do that. Britney's life is becoming too public, he doesn't want to be in the public eye in that way.

I've never seen him. Even when she first started out. Like on those dumb shows, its always her mom and sibblings.

He's probably just some redneck who likes his privacy.

I've seen him before. His name is Jamie (and Britney's mom's name is Lynne..hence Britney's little sister, Jamie Lynn) It wasn't on TV though. I used to be obsessed with her in 1999 and 2000, so I bought that book she wrote with her mom about her life, Britney Spears Heart to Heart. There were a lot of pictures in that, mostly of family members and her dad was in it. The reason he never talks about her is pretty much because they didn't really spend a lot of time together while Britney was growing up. Britney's dad was (I think) a construction worker and her mom was an elementary school teacher. Her dad worked a lot more than her mom did. Plus, after she got chosen for the Mickey Mouse Club and all her stardom stuff started, she needed someone to travel around with her, and that was her mom. I dunno if this has changed, but in the book she said she and her dad were close, but not nearly as close as she was with her mom.

As for where he is now...I don't know. Usually when Britney's mom does all the talking in interviews and is always saying how the family is so proud of her and blah blah blah. But, this one time I read that Britney's mom was mad about her video, "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know" because she thought it was a little....too much I guess. So I dunno how they all feel about her recent marriage issue but if they don't care at all then they're crazy, because from what I read in the past, they were devoted Baptists.

Her dad doesnt like to be seen too often.
