We were watching the DVD of "Seabiscuit" tonight, and my 12-year old daughter (who is a REAL "Wings" fan) and I noticed something at the same time....The red-haired actress who plays Annie Howard (Jeff Bridges' first wife in the film) is none other than Valerie Mahaffey....also known to "Wings" viewers as SANDY COOPER!

We both pointed to the screen and yelled "SANDY COOPER!"...and my poor wife had NO idea what the heck we were talking about!

I researched this on the internet just to be sure, and yes, it is indeed Valerie Mahaffey who played both "Seabiscuit's" Annie Howard and "Wings'" Sandy Cooper....This was almost as good as the time I discovered Rebecca Schull appearing in BOTH of the "Analyze This!" movies!

Pilotguy, I was on a plane returning from a business trip and the movie they were showing was Seabiscuit and I noticed the same thing. I thought it was great that she got that role.

Can someone tell this newbie who Sandy Cooper is? I saw Seabiscuit, loved it by the way, and didn't notice anyone from Wings.

I'm only a month or so into Wings though... a character from another season perhaps?

Sandy Cooper was a character who appeared once a year for three consecutive seasons (Seasons 5, 6 and 7).

She was a high school classmate of Joe's, and Joe keeps insisting to Brian and Helen that Sandy had a creepy, obsessive crush on him in high school, but they don't believe him, insisting that it's all in Joe's mind.

Sandy's now a successful lawyer (and later a judge), and when she arrives in Nantucket for a visit, she acts perfectly normal in front of everyone and laughingly denies that she ever had a crush on Joe, making him look completely foolish.....However, when she gets Joe alone, she admits her true love for him in sick "stalker" fashion, and she turns into a real crazy-eyed NUT-CASE, calling Joe her "Joey-Bear"...but ONLY when nobody else is around to see and hear it....and the others STILL don't believe Joe when he tells them about it later!

Thank you. I just saw one of her episodes last week, but I didn't pay attention to her name.
It was very funny when she showed up at Joe's psychiatrist's office.
