If you compare the very first and very last AITF eps with Edith Bunker, you may notice that as it appears to me, Jean Stapleton really had to work at being evolved fully as "Edith." Her voice went up a couple octaves, she became more "beloved Dingbat". I can't say if she did this on her own, or needed direction to become the "Edith" that we all know and love. Anyone have any ideas?? SA??? You out there, love?

I honestly didn't pay that much attention to the Edith character to discuss how she evolved because she was my least favorite character on the show. So I only focused on the characters of Mike, Lionel, George, Archie, Louise, Irene, Frank, and Henry.

I noticed that. I love her character, only she could pull of a character as wacky as that! :)
