So far, I have posted 6 or 7 photos on there. Surprisingly, two of the photos that TJ posted (in the Small Wonder section) were siggies that I had at one time. :eek: :lol:

I'm kind of mad that some of my Bewitched/Liz screen captures (that I personally captured) were used. No one asked for my permission to use them and now I can't even delete them. I thought this photo gallery was going to be his own scans and stuff and then later we could add what we want. Not to mention, he posted one of my avatars :confused: and a photo of Liz that hangs on my wall that I captured with my digital camera. :confused: :confused: It would've been nice if someone would've asked me. It takes a lot of work capturing photos and sure I posted them here, but before these galleries I could always go back and delete them-now I can't. I know I sound like a whining crybaby, but really it takes a lot of work for me to capture photos. I just find it in bad taste that he didn't say 'hey, is it okay that I use your screen captures?' Go on and ridicule me for being the first to complain, but how would you feel if you spent hours capturing the perfect photos and they get used without your consent?

edit: I went through my photos and made a list. Since, I obviously was not asked if it was okay that they be displayed in the gallery and since I obviously don't have the decision of deleting them myself anymore. OK, this is REALLY making me mad...:mad:

For the life of me, I CANNOT upload anymore pics...I keep getting this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 113

Why aren't GIF and JPEG images allowed? I have to make sure mine's a JPG and not a JPEG.

Before I get this error, I can go to the upload page, no problem, then it says it's processing my image upload then I get that error. :livid:

Yeah, I saw alot of my stuff pop up in there too. Taking things without asking isn't nice at all, maybe some credit would be nice? I found an I Love Lucy scan I took in early 2002, I was showing people all the Lucy stuff I got at Universal Studios and when I visted her grave. He could have found a better picture of that RC Cola sign on Google. Mine is all cut off, but whatever I guess. I also found an I Love Lucy blend I made, a Facts of Life photo I put together three years ago, and who knows what else I may find of mine there.

I mean he could've asked me and given me credit, but the fact is he didn't so that really pisses me off. I asked him nicely above to remove my photos and I really hope he does because it isn't nice to take something that isn't yours. If he would've asked me I wouldn't have a problem with them being up there for display, but he didn't and now I would really like them to be removed. If I want to display my Liz/Bewitched photos I have my own domain name myself and I can create my own photo gallery. I really don't want people stealing my images and claiming them as their own. If he wanted to give me credit he could've emailed me and asked, but he didn't. Therefore, I just want them removed. There's plenty of Bewitched and Liz photos left after he removes mine so I don't see the problem.

And a Get Smart graphic I used to have in my signature. He also had a Facts of Life Christmas screenshot I captured as the FOL board picture during December. I don't get it, why doesn't he ask? People are obviously going to get offended when stuff they capture/scan/make is used without asking and no credit.

He told me theyb are attached and he doesn't go around to sites collecting them or sometihng like that

Well, he knew I captured them because in some of the posts I've posted with my screen captures I clearly stated that I captured them. I really only posted them for one person anyway. How the hell was I supposed to know they'd end up in a gallery without credit to me or my consent? I thought this whole gallery thing was gonna be photos that TJ himself captured and scanned. I didn't think my stuff was going to end up in there without me uploading them. I won't be using it now. I don't think you did anything wrong. It might be the script itself. Allison said she was having problems uploading too and you can't log into it so maybe it has something to do with the php script, not you guys.

I think all your gripes about TJ's photo gallery could have been handled privately with him. Instead, everyone just has a big discussion about him knowing he's going to read it.

The material was posted. When you folks take pics and stuff from other places, do you credit it or think twice before posting it to other places?

Personally, I'd be flattered if he used something that I posted on his site. I'd figure once I post it, I don't own it anymore.

Besides, I thought this was a community where everyone shared.
If or when this site is history because TJ decides it's not worth his while, everyone, including myself, will miss it.

You know I understand where you coming from. I think the gallery is really nice. I'm just upset that he took my photos without asking. If somebody wanted to take them fine let them rumage through 50 pages of the thread I posted them in. At least, then they were still under my screen name and I still had the decision of deleting them if I didn't want to share them anymore. When he posted them in the gallery he took that option away from me and not to mention not once does he mention who posted the screen captures in the first place. All I want is him to remove the photos that I personally took my time to capture with my video capturing device and my scanner. That's all I want because he didn't give me credit in the first place. I will drop the subject once my photos are removed. I'm not ungrateful. I'm just mad that he took my photos and didn't even once put my screen name in the description or anything. Like I said before, once my photos are removed from the gallery I will proceed to remove them from thread so I don't have to share them anymore, okay? Okay.

Concerning the photo galleries...

Yes many of the photos that were uploaded were already used as attachments here - I didn't think it would be a problem if I simply transferred them over to the galleries. I downloaded the attachments directory and then sorted through them. I tried not to upload blends or other personally made things and if i did it was a mistake, I did use some screen captures but I didn't know who made what as I said I just downloaded the attachment directory and it didn't say who uploaded what.

Why would you want them uploaded as attachments and not in the galleries? I believe I have every right to use anything that you've personally made yourself and uploaded to the message boards. Of course, if there's anything you want removed - I will do so but it will take some time. Also, if you want to be credited contact me privately.

Only jpgs will upload, not gifs.

This still doesn't solve the uploading problems people are having, including me. I could only get a total of 5 pics uploaded before I kept getting PHP errors.

If you tried not to upload blends how come my blends went from .png to .jpg? Just wondering because my Lucille Ball blend was originally a .png and I noticed the quality was low and saw it was a .jpg.

It's okay though, if what I post becomes property to you then I'll just start watermarking my images, like Holly said. I really don't mind my stuff being used if I'm asked and credit is given.

Any photos that you want removed, please use the 'report this photo' option - that will make it much quicker and faster to delete them.

Okay, good.

I'm sorry, I got all mad about it, but I know how people on the internet are. I learned that first when I had my MTM fan site. People stole images from me left and right and never credited me so you can see why I get all huffy when people take my stuff. And I believe if I leave my photos up in your gallery. I'll be back at that again, viewing bewitched sites with my screen captures and then I'll have to go through all that again - trying to get those people to take them off. Thanks, for being understanding though.

I had my Mary site up for about 7 or 8 years and I guess I had too much bad experience with people stealing my images. Everytime, I'd come across a newly developed Mary fan site/MTMS fan site/DVDS fan site I'd always come across photos that were taken from my site without my permission or credit. I got tired of trying to get people to take down my photos or at least give me credit. I finally got fed up with that site and deleted it. My newest problem is direct linkers. They're just as annoying.

By the way, TJ, I don't know if you know but the two photos below that you have in the Liz gallery aren't Liz.

This one is a fake made to look like Liz is topless on the beach. I assure you it's not Liz. ;)

Because we made those pics especially for our friends, whom we trust not to spread them all over the net. The gallery invites people to steal.

TJ, you used a picture for "Three's Company" that I scanned from Biography magazine....you know, the one where Janet is smiling hardly and Jack is doing a weird pose....well I just wanted to let you know that I don't mind you using it at all, but there's a much clearer version at www.biography.com lol

But anybody who visits there boards and registers and signs up can download any attachment here anyway, what is the difference?

I guess maybe watermarking photos is a good idea.

Now, about that error I get whenever I upload...I know I'm not the only one this is happening to. This has also happened to a few other people. This is upsetting me because I only got 5 uploaded (3 on this name, 2 on my old one) and the rest got 10+ uploaded before they started getting errors. :(

Also, Ashlee's problem needs to be addressed...it's absolutely driving her bonkers...

This photo gallery thing confuses me.

Are you sure you uploading in jpg format? You can't just rename them to .jpg from .gif - you have to actually convert them into a different format. Somehow I don't think the upload queue gets cleared when you try and upload a .gif or .jpeg. This program is still new to me, so I'm still learning how it works.

If you have a problem logging in, it's a cookies problem - you need to enable them in your browser.

I did not go through any threads and save the attachments, I downloaded the entire directory and then just sorted through everything. I couldn't ask permission since I didn't know who originally uploaded the photos in the first place.

Anyone that wants something they uploaded to the boards deleted, I will be glad to do so. I think most people wouldn't have had a problem if I had just used a gallery script that uses the attachment and identified the original uploader. I can understand how people would want to be credited for their original work though. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't haven't used anything from the attachments directory at all.

There is no difference.. actually they are just for sitcom and tv photos - I'm not sure why people are uploading all their personal pictures like movies and music stuff... that's not what they are for, for non sitcom and non tv stuff - you can just continue uploading attachments on Chit Chat.

But isn't that what the personal pages are for?

The Members Gallery just displays all photos a person has uploaded, there are no seperate categories for music, movies, etc. - so people must be just uploading to their own member gallery.

Copy and paste the exact errors you are getting. There have been times where I thought I was uploading a jpg but it was really a gif or a jpeg. I can try and get support, but I need to know what errors you are getting.

Trust me, I know when I'm uploading a JPG. There's a little icon next to my pics when I browse through my folders that tells me if it's a GIF or JPG.

I have tried EVERYTHING. Going into one of my programs (PSP or Paint, whichever one I choose), re-saving them as a JPG THEN uploading them. Like I said before, when I click to upload them, I see them start to successfully get through then I get that error.

I cleared your upload queue, try it on your account 8799.

I also cleared Anthony's queue, he had quite a few that never made it either for some reason.

Dammit...I spoke too soon....:crying: I got one more picture to go through, THEN I got the same error AGAIN the second time around. :(

I think something is wrong with the way you have the photos named, I'll delete your queue again and try and upload photos that don't have any spaces in their filenames.

Cool_version_of_Mama_s_Family_cast_pic_full_version_ is not a valid jpg file, I can't open it up in Paint Shop Pro. Try uploading them without that one photo.

Hmmm. I tried uploading it in with another name...guess that didn't work :(

Edit: Tried it without that pic, still no go for me.

It's that one photo that is causing all the problems - it's 115K and you renamed it cool86pic - that's not a jpg file. I'll delete just that one file and then try and upload a single different photo.

I converted cool86pic to a valid jpg file, it was a gif that somebody probably had just named as jpg..

Ashlee, from the screenshot I saw, it looks like you have a lot of spyware (and that's bad news - look at all the toolbars you have up top). Have you tried downloading Adaware, then running it? Do that, and once you get the program started up, click on "Check for updates now" and click on Connect. Once you are done, run it and once Adaware finishes, make sure everything in the list is checked, then click "Next" and it'll ask you if it's OK to delete everything. Click "Yes".

It's also a good idea to download Spybot, as well. I downloaded both progs when I got this comp last month and I've had zero problems so far. :) (for further instructions, refer to any thread about spyware here on CC) This could maybe perhaps be the problem.

And while we're at it, it wouldn't hurt to clear out your internet cache. Tools > Internet Options > General tab. What I usually do is click on the "Delete Cookies", "Delete Files" and "Delete History" buttons and I'm good to go. Word of warning - it will also clear all cookies for SO, so you'll more than likely have to relogin after doing so. That will hopefully solve the problem. Who knows? You just have to do some tinkering with. :D

I posted plenty of Mary-Kate & Ashley starting from the later years through today and "Full House" sisters on the "Full House" photo gallery. It is great.

I just got an e-mail today from TJ saying that he though one of the pics I uploaded should be moved. I can't say I blame him really. I am wondering how many titles will be subdivided between stars, and how far we can take the relevance of a pic. Let's say for instance I had a photo from the stageplay "The Real Live Brady Bunch," and I wanted to post it in the Brady Bunch section? Or in the cartoons/animation category, what if I've got pics of some of the voiceover actors/actresses?

Whenever i post the pics, it gives me an option of being emailed when someone replies to them... this brings me to my question.. How do we respond to pictures? I couldn't find anything.

There is a comments section where you could comment on and rate photos, but since I already have the message boards that seemed unnecessary and I turned it off. I really didn't want it to turn into a 2nd message board. The front page looks misaligned with the comments column turned off.

Well TJ, if I may make a comment on them, today I saw a lot of photos uploaded in the "Current Sitcoms" section that really should be shifted to sections in the 1960's, '70's, '80's and others.

Yes, it's best to go to the particular show you are uploading to and upload from there instead of the main page. It's pretty easy to move them though.

I wish we could post other pictures.
