The WOMAN who played Beverly LaSalle was a woman in real-life named "Lori Shannon". I just got that from the closing credits of the N@N episode last night "Beverly Rides Again"

The man was played by a man... so in reality, two different people played the parts.

No, that is not correct. The MAN who played Beverly LaSalle was a MAN in real life. Here's the scenario:

A MAN (actor/female impersonator Don McLean) with the stage name of "Lori Shannon" played the (female impersonator) Beverly LaSalle on All In The Family. (Don McLean died aged 44 on 11 Feb 1984). So in a nutshell:

Don McLean played "Lori Shannon."

"Lori Shannon" played Beverly LaSalle

Don McLean could also be credited with playing Beverly LaSalle but preferred being known as Lori Shannon.

LOL...I did a good bit of editing on that one myself! It's like The Victor/Victoria of AITF eps. :D Sad Mr. McLean (not to be confused with the "American Pie" Song guy Don McLean....to add to the confusion! :D ) died so young. I couldn't find any causes. Back to the original question about Mr. McLean's sexuality, I do not know if he were gay. Many female impersonators are. Some are straight, and there are some straight married guys who like to wear their wives' dresses and undies. Oh...and it doesn't matter 'cause it's none of our business. :cool:

I kind of wondered who played the part. Was it a woman or man.
It nice to know it was a man. The person was a bit tall, but we do have tall husky women in life.
