I always wondered if it was any good. ¤Graced¤ 12-31-2003, 12:01 AM My family was going to use it but we looked at the selection of movies and they don't have very current movies. The most current films they have were movies that came out on video and DVD a month earlier. vashti1999 12-31-2003, 02:06 AM Netflix does have current movies. I recently ended a year-long subscription to Netflix and for the most part had no problems. There were three out of around 100 discs that got lost in the mail but it was pretty smooth otherwise. I'm definitely considering rejoining. It would only takes a couple of days between the time I sent a disc back and they send the next disc on my list. As far as current movies go, Netflix gets them the same day they're released in stores. There were many times when I got a dvd the same day or day after it was released in stores (Boat Trip, Matrix Reloaded, Hollywood Homicide are some examples of dvds I rented through Netflix the same week they came out.) Take it from someone who's used it, I recommend it. Anyway, you can always try the free trial to test it out. Janice 12-31-2003, 02:32 AM Netflix is the greatest 'invention' since the wheel in my opinion. They have ALL the latest movies...even get them a day before they come out. I joined in June and haven't encountered a single problem. Movies delivered to your door with a prepaid postage envelope to return it. I love it. Fast turnaround time too---I can see 3-4 movies a week, all for $20 a month. I LOVE Netflix. It's a movie lover's dream :) Here's my review from last summer. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76939&highlight=netflix Short Circus 12-31-2003, 09:07 PM Thanks for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts. I am very tempted to try it out. I think I most likely will  Short Circus 01-01-2004, 02:23 PM One more question I thought of! Do they have mostly mainstream Hollywood flicks or do they have independant selections as well? Janice 01-03-2004, 03:50 AM Originally posted by PaceyGirrl One more question I thought of! Do they have mostly mainstream Hollywood flicks or do they have independant selections as well? Their inventory is huge. I've never been unable to find a single movie. Perhaps their website allows you to browse the movies? That would be helpful to you. :) Short Circus 01-03-2004, 01:52 PM Thanks again! I joined and I already have like 50 movies in my queue, not to mention the unreleased titles I put on my saved list. My first three will be Moonlight Mile, Joy Luck Club and Hysterical Blindness. I can't wait! :happyface DianeChambers87 01-03-2004, 02:03 PM Yes, Netflix and Tivo ARE the greatest inventions since the wheel! The only thing that I can recommend is not to get too excited with it first month and order like 50 movies......er right now I have major movie back-up....lol Janice 01-05-2004, 01:03 AM Originally posted by Short Circus Thanks again! I can't wait! :happyface Great! Let us know how you like it. I think you'll love it. I remember how excited I was getting my first movies in the mail. Remember that's it's only a good deal if you have a quick turnaround with the movies since you can only have three movies out at a time. So watch them and mail them back. You changed your username? What was it before? I get so confused. :) Short Circus 01-05-2004, 04:05 AM They came on Saturday! Hysterical Blindness was excellent. If you haven't seen it yet, you must. I am going to drop them in the mail tomorrow. My husband and I rent an average of 10 movies a month at Hollywood Video which usually comes out to about almost $45 after tax, so I'm excited to be able to watch the same 10 movies for only $20 :D Oh, it was PaceyGirrl ;) |
