The rule that says a receiver catches the ball if he is pushed out be a defender even if he gets no feet in bounds needs to be changed. It happened in the Ravens game. Also in the Vikings game, but there he at least had one foot in. It is a bad rule, if the defender does his job and pushes you out of bounds before you possess the ball in the field of play I think it should not be a catch. The Ref is guessing that you would have caught the ball but for the defender, but this is a guess.

How about when a defender delivers a wicked hit on a receiver right when they catch a ball and the receiver drops the ball and it is not called a catch. The ref cant call it a catch and say he would have caught it if the defender hadnt hit him.

Get rid of the push out of bounds rule and have the reciever run the route 1 yard into the field so they dont have to worry about being pushed out. The rule punishes the defender for doing his job - trying to break up the play.

There is also another rule I wish they get rid of!! In 1999, kickers were rubbing the football and "heating"(that's right!!!) heating them in the microwave and too many touchbacks that the league decided to have kick-offs, extra points and field goals, and punts with special kinds of balls called the "k-balls" which twelve of those balls are used and not touched until kick-offs and/or extra points/field goals and punts while the regular NFL football has for the outdoors 36 balls and indoors 24 and kickers and punters and even kick and punt returners are complaining that the ball is too soft and slippery and field goals and touchbacks have gone way, way, done by 55% and they need to get rid of those dumb k-balls!!
