Do you like todays, 2000-2003, 1973-1983, or 1984-1999? I like the 1984-1999 opening best. I like the current one second, and the other two suck. How about you?

I like all the versions of the 1973-1984 the best, followed by 1984-1999 then 2003-present. I hate the 1999-2003 one.

whichever years, i like the one with the drawn sketches of the stars. wasn't that early or mid '80's?

I don't really remember them but I'll have to say the 1984-1999 ones, because that's when I was really getting into Y&R. Other than that I liked the one they had before this current opening.

That was 1973-1984. To refresh everyone's memory...

1973-1984 - Drawn sketches of various characters. Some might remember the logo NOT being the famous YR symbol.

1984-1999 - The long running opening consisting of live action poses of the characters in formal wear, with white background.

1999-2003 - Red background version similar to 1984-1999, but most stars are shown by themselves. This opening introduced the actor/actress credits being in the show's open.

2003-present - Tune in Monday to see this one:)
