Remember the scene when George finds out Uncle Buddy was messin around with his mother? And then Uncle Buddy SLAPS George? After That scene I never looked at the George Jefferson the same-LOL I just thought it was weird for a GROWN MAN with a Wife and Family to get Slapped in the Face. I thought that was something you do to a CHild. Audience Members were also Laughing when George getsSlapped because they knew it didn't look right.
PS-The 1975 George would have never let something like that Happen.

I agree the first acouple of seasons of The Jeffersons, would never allow someone as arrogant and full of pride like George Jefferson to be treated in such in a degrading matter; it seems to me the writers of the Jeffersons soften George's demeanor, which is my eyes made the George Jefferson character less interesting...I liked him a lot better when he was a cocky, stood his ground and did not take any crap from anyone...
