Is this stuff all from "Santa";) or from ALL your relatives. Well, you must have pretty rich relatives to get stuff like digitals camera, big screen tv's, video game systems, etc. I'd never get stuff like that from anyone. I really wanted an ipod but I know that no one would get me that. The closest thing was the iTunes store gift certificate from my uncle. You guys are all lucky to have such nice (or rich?) family! :)

Bugiddle 12-26-2003, 01:25 AM The best thing I got this Christmas was a CD my 23-year-old nephew recorded. He wrote, sang and played all on the songs on it. Sort of "Dave Mathews Band"-inspired. This is the 2nd CD he has recorded - he was in a band in high school. He is one talented young man!

I wasn't having a good day when I made that post. I SINCERELY hate spending time with my dad's side of the family. Lookee here, how would you like to be profoundly deaf and have everybody in your family try to talk to you as if you could hear what they said, AND read their lips? The worst thing is, I've had to put up with that my whole life. They don't even REMEMBER I can't hear, so I don't even bother reminding them, because they're just going to forget.
There. I said it. Now everybody knows I can't hear. OK? It's REALLY hard for me this time of the year because of all my family getting together and I can't join in on their conversations. :crying: Hate it, hate it. I wish more than anything I had the ability to hear. :(

They have this thing called cochlear implants that you have to qualify for, but that won't happen to me... And besides it costs a LOT of money. Last time I heard the price, it was $10,000 for each ear. You have to be under 5 years old or be older than 40 to qualify for it, among other things....but cochlear implants have a 50-50 chance of working so it's not worth it to lose all that money.

I never knew you wanted a Bulldog. They're so cute as puppies. My Mother's friend raises Bulldogs and Bullmastiffs when she had litters we'd come over and help her out. Their parents are all top of the line usually because she shows her dogs. A lot of them have Championed. She just had a litter of Bulldog puppies about this time last year. Maybe more recently then that- I haven't kept up lately. I think she's more into the raising of Bullmastiffs nowthough, but last time I was there in September she had a couple bulldogs still... Have you done research on the breed? Or do you just like their style? They're nice dogs :) I know some about them if you ever get one and want any information. If I don't know I'm sure I can find out from my Mom's friend.

That is a cute Puppy. All Bulldogs are supposed to be wrinkley and pudgy.
Here's a photo of one of my Mom's friend's puppies. This specific puppy is full grown now though. It actually belongs to the woman's son. Her name is CJ :) She was still pretty young and fat here to show a lot of wrinkles. She has a lot now.. trust me. haha

I am very sorry! You're family sounds quite insensitive. Why don't they learn sign-language, so they can communicate with you? My niece-in-law and her sister were both born deaf. My sister-in-law had some type of operation while she was an infant, which corrected it, but it didn't work for her sister. Their family all knows sign language, (I think that she can hear a little bit, plus read lips, too.) My niece-in-law is teaching her 20-month-old daughter to sign, which I think is so neat! I wish that you had a really supportive family like theirs...

Thank God everybody in my immediate family knows sign language- that's my sis, my bro and both parents. My maternal grandma is making an effort to learn it (again), but my paternal grandma is 80 and my grandpa's 89, so I'm not even going to bother trying to teach them sign language now... Everybody on my mom's side all remember I can't hear, so that's not a problem... We do the paper/pen thing when I'm with them, so it's all good. But my dad's side is a lot older, so I won't even bother. Half of them remember I can't hear, but the other half...Meh. The ones that DO remember I can't hear, all live out of state and the others that keep forgetting I can't hear, live here in town. I don't get it. Oh well.

A TiVo is the most wonderful television device since the VCR. Basically, it's a digital recorder. It will record things automatically onto its hard drive, so you never have to remember to tape anything. You can set up "season's passes" for whatever shows you want, and if you do, it will record every episode that's ever on, without you touching anything. You can also do other fun stuff like pause and rewind live TV, but the recording is what it's really great for. :D Get one...it's awesome!!!
