That's what I was thinking. I like Welcome Back Kotter better than any of the choices listed. I like Facts of Life second, though.

My choice is obvious, but other than that, The Facts of Life and A Different World are great as well.

Yup, I remember Room 222. Remember the students Pam ,Jason , Bernie and Helen?
Denise Nicholas who played Liz McIntyre went on to play Carroll O'Connor's love interest on" In The Heat Of The Night"
Wonder whatever happened to Karen Valentine?

the first 2 seasons of "Head of the Class" when Howard Hessman was in it, and none of the students left.

the first 2 seasons of "Welcome Back, Kotter" when John Travolta & Gabe Kaplan was still on, and they were all able to pass as high schollers instead of misplacedd college students.
Gabe Kaplan wanted to move the action to a college to be beleivable, but they rejected the idea, and instead ended up with the mess that the show became in the post Travolta/Kaplan years.

even though I definately think FOL is the best show of the lot (I like ADW too, but never liked SBTB.. I didn't watch it when it aired), I dunno if it really is the same thing as ADW or SBTB when you consider only the first four of nine seasons were set in school. ADW and SBTB stayed at the school the whole time and for example, when the characters you knew and loved off ADW graduated, instead of focusing on their post-Hillman lives, they brought in new blood as well. Yet FOL took the prime setting out of Eastland once Jo and Blair graduated, and even though Natalie and Tootie were still going to Eastland a little bit longer (Natalie graduated in 85 and Tootie in 86), there was little to no Eastland Academy after the end of season 4. Yet the other shows stayed about the schools.

As far as I'm concerned, SBTB is really only good for one thing... the movie Showgirls, one of the worst yet most entertaining pieces of 90's cinema ;)

1 - Room 222
2 - Mr. Novak
3 - Lucas Tanner
4 - Channing
5 - Mr. Peepers

Your choices would be good if you were deciding the worst show.

Facts Of Life and A Different World were both good shows, neither were Emmy-worthy but I think both shows have stood the test of time and have transcended appeal to generations who didn't grow up with them. I haven't seen HOTC in fifteen years so I dunno how it stands today.
