View Full Version : Christmas Mass
Nanny Fine 12-24-2003, 09:15 PM Does anyone here attend Christmas Mass?
Do you go on Christmas Eve? Children's Mass or Midnight?
I'm Catholic and we went to Children's Mass this evening at 6. So many of the kids in mass were having a hard time sitting still - I remember that from so many years ago!
Merry Christmas everyone.
Ewan's My Man 12-24-2003, 09:37 PM I went to the kiddie's mass at 5:30. Yea, there was a lotta singing. I haven't been to a real mass since Easter...it was loooooooooooooooooooooong (only an hour, but I was bored)
Brian 12-24-2003, 09:45 PM Almost every year since I was born my family and I went to church on Christmas Eve. However, we're going tomorrow morning probably at 10:45 am. The priest said that tonight it would be very crowded. That wouldn't be good with a small parking lot. Hopefully it won't be as crowded tomorrow morning. It'll be the first time that my family and I have gone to church on Christmas day.
HuntingtonM15 12-24-2003, 09:48 PM I went to the 4:00 mass.
PZelda 12-24-2003, 10:05 PM I didn't go, but my grandma did.

Me, too.
AllIWantIsYourClutch 12-24-2003, 10:26 PM I love my church on Christmas Eve. I went at 7 tonight. We have like 8423 choirs, the bell choir (where they play bells) and at the very end, they turn all the lights off, we all light a candle, and sing Silent Night. It's so pretty.
TheHappyBurgerMeister 12-24-2003, 10:56 PM I'm not Catholic, so I didn't go to Mass, obviously, but I'm Lutheran and I did go to my church at 7pm. It was a candle light service. We all hold candles at the end of the service and sing Silent Night with the lights out. I always like that service. We also have a 4 and 5:30. We don't have a "midnight" service. My grandma's church has like a 10:30 pm one.
TheHappyBurgerMeister 12-24-2003, 11:00 PM Oh, I forgot to say this. One of our pastors announced something kind of shocking to the congregation at the beginning of the service. He said that our other pastor was in the hospital and was going to have open heart surgery tomorrow. I guess he had a heart attack. He's really not that old- late forties. So, it's unfortunate it had to happen at Christmas, but the pastor at our service tonight said he talked to him and he had a pretty positive attitude about it. So, please keep him in your prayers!

~LadyJess~ 12-25-2003, 12:56 PM I go to the 4:00 mass, we actually got seats this year too, last year we sat behind the choir on kneelers and the year before that we were sitting in the hay by the nativity scene in the gathering space.
Mijada 12-25-2003, 01:57 PM We always had to go when i was a kid. I hated it. Now that I'm older I would like to start going to church again but not a catholic one.
