Former DALLAS star LARRY HAGMAN is fighting for his life after undergoing emergency liver surgery.

Hagman's wife MAJ has been keeping a constant vigil by the 72-year-old's bedside at ST VINCENT MEDICAL CENTRE in Los Angeles, since the operation.

Hagman was given a donor liver in 1995, after 50-years of heavy drinking wrecked his liver - and he was warned what would happen if he hit the bottle again.

A friend says, "Larry started drinking again earlier this year He is very weak and sliding downhill fast."

Hagman found fame playing scheming oil tycoon JR EWING in the 1970s smash hit soap.





If it is, I hope he gets well soon, and I'm praying for him and for his family.

Gee I saw him on Larry King a few months back with Barbara Eden and he looked great. Why in the world would he drink again. Maybe it wasn't the drinking. Maybe the liver just lasted so long. I feel sorry to hear he isn't well.

That's all true, but I sitll have my hopes up about it not being true. But if it is, like I said before, I'm praying for him...
