Near San Simeon, CA, happened about 11:15am PT. No major damage reported, but violent shaking has been reported near San Luis Obispo.

It's been on MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News Channel since about 2:20pm ET.

Lady T 12-23-2003, 12:14 AM Only two people were killed; two women were crushed to death when the building they were in collasped..I live 300 hundred miles south from this area, so I did not feel the earthqake, but it was felt in Los Angeles and San Francisco.which are both 200 hundred miles North and South...

I'd love to visit someday! When I heard about that, I was very relieved to hear that it was left untouched..

really a very beautiful part of coastal-central California; I love Pismo Beach which is near by as well....
