**** microsoft. they bought Rare, the best video game company ever, so all the Rare games are gonna be made for xbox. theyve also just about stopped working with computers so they can make games for their damn xbox.

Gamecube IS better anyway. the controls on xbox are friggan weird and its kind of confusing.

And I'm POed too that Microsoft bought out Rare too...Rare made some of the BEST games EVER for Nintendo...Rare's been with Nintendo FOREVER. I LOVE the games they made for the NES too....Snake Rattle 'n' Roll is one. :rock:

Nope, but I want it soooooo badly...I'll wait til somebody decides to sell their disc at GameStop here. :D

Right now, I'm content with playing the original NES Zelda games on the NES that my brother brought up here when he came into town last night...His NES still works, and everything still works. So, that's OK with me. :D

I really don't see what's so cool about it anyway...It's nothing special, except on MSN Messenger, you can input the X-Box smiley by typing in (xx). But that's it. :thumbsdow

Gamecube. But PS2 Is 10 times better than both of them.

GameCube. Xbox doesn't have a lot of games but some of the few they do have are excellent (like Halo). Like Sarah and Alison I am pretty upset that Microsoft bought Rare. Rare can still make games for Game Boy Advance (Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge was released back in September) and several more are being made and will be released in the coming year. I hate that if Banjo-Threeie comes out it will only be on Xbox. I love the Banjo-Kazooie games but I don't want to buy a whole system for just 2 or 3 games. When Conker: Live and Uncut comes out I'll probably rent an Xbox to play that. I'm not going to buy a current generation console (I have GameCube, PlayStation 2, and a Game Boy Advance SP) so I'm going to wait until Xbox 2 comes out. I'm sure they're going to make one but no release date for that console or any of the next generation consoles has been officially announced.

Luckily the Donkey Kong characters are not owned by Rare. There was plans for a Donkey Kong Racing game but after Microsoft bought Rare the game is either cancelled or the future of it is in limbo. I hope Nintendo finds another developer for that game because I would buy it. I read today at IGN.com that there are plans for a port of Donkey Kong Country 2 for Game Boy Advance.

What a coincidence. For the past couple of weeks when I am not on the boards I'm playing that one. I'm at around 65%. It's a huge game. I hope they'll make a game like that for GameCube.

It's a replayable game, that's for sure! :) If I could just remember where I put my DK64 cart....then I would be all set...

Oh yeah, that's right...They've had other Donkey Kong games since before Rare was making them....I know we have DK Jr. and a few others for the NES that weren't made by Rare. :)

I always liked Nintendo and Sega, then again I havent played since I was 12.

DK64 was the worst Donkey Kong game.
Sure its long.... but I have a defective copy and it freezes every time I fight the "big fly boss" for the second time.

The best DK game was DKC2.

I don't know which is better, Banjo-Kazooie or Banjo-Tooie. I've beaten both of them.

As far as it being a copy of something I think that all the 3D platformer games today were inspired by Super Mario 64. I think it was that game that started the craze. My favorite kind of game is a 3D platformer and if Xbox had a lot of those (or a lot of games for that matter) I would have bought an Xbox console a year or two ago. I think it is too late for me to buy an Xbox considering that the system was first released around 2001 or early 2002 and has been around already for a few years.

Ha. My sister was on The View today, and as gifts they gave everyone in the audience Gamecubes and 2 games. Its mine now:)
