How Man Presents Are You Expecting This Christmas?

My family sucks and they dont give me anything. I dont get anything from my daughter because she's not old enough to go and shop for herself. My mother said when she's big enough to shop herself then that is when I'll start to get gifts from her. Nice, huh?

So a big fat hairy nothing.

I really am not a big Christmas person. At All.

Why on earth would I lie? I'd love to get at least 1 present but I dont. My family does not get along, everyone fights so we dont even go to anyone's house. My mother doesnt' cook a dinner, we don't exchange gifts, nothing. My birthday is the same - this year my mother did not even call me and wish me a Happy Birthday. My boss and her husband took me to dinner or I would have sat at work all day alone. Mother's Day? Same thing.

I actually sat and cried last week when I had to put up the Christmas tree because I did not want to. I'm a struggling single mother and making a Christmas even happen for my daughter has been horrible. I hate to sound like Scrooge but I'll just be glad when it's all over with.

Someone asked earlier what would be on yoru Chstimas wish list. I dont even make one up becasue what's the point but I'd love to get the same things that everyone else asks for. I want the FRIENDS DVD Seasons but I can't buy them myself. Chsritmas would be a great time to get them. I've lost 70 pounds so I'd love to gift certificates to buy new clothes. I found a reasonably priced DVD Recorder that I'd love to get too.

The whole thing is just frustrating for me.

Yes but I haven't looked at the site yet. I haev to leave in a couple minutes to work until 2 and then I'm done working until January 5th. I'll look when I get home this afternoon.

I dont think I am expecting very much because I am getting three things that are kinda of expensive (ipod, coach bag, and under armour) but then since my mom has a huge family, I get a bunch of presents from them, and since my dad is Jewish I get Chaunka presents from them too:) so the holidays are always a nice time!

My Dad was here last week and bought me two Sim Expansion packs.

My Mom got me a $400 Chihuahua puppy last night, and I have one other present under the tree.

Other than that one present from my other friend. :)

I told everyone not to get me anything I'd rather get them stuff, but I guess it doesn't work that way. I would have been just as happy watching everyone open their presents.

Not too much this year. Everybody seems to be in a financial bind in my family. So it's just going to be an ld fashioned "You being here is my present" Christmas.

Oh...at least 5-10 gifts...I asked for some pretty expensive stuff... (digital camera, some DVD sets)

This year, I get what I get. My father is paying $125 for me to go compete in the AFJROTC National Drill Competition in D.C. in March, then he's paying $400 for my trip to Virginia/D.C. over April vacation with the AFJROTC Honor Society, so there's $525 right there.

The only expensive thing I asked for this year (excluding the above) was a new watch. My other one had broke.

Well I already received some money from my dad and I know my neighbor is getting me something and my sister and her family will get me something plus the Christmas bonus from work. That's about it. It doesn't bother me, not getting a lot of presents. I pretty much have everything I need and the few little things I want I can buy myself. I'm just happy to be getting two weeks off from work and being able to go see my sister who I hardly ever see anymore. I actually have a lot of fun wrapping presents for other people.

I have already gotten a few from my friends, I got a cd case for my car, cuz according to them its too messy, some glowin in the dark pens and stuff for my basement (cuz it has blacklights....long story) and then today my friend gave me this really hot Carmello Anthony hat!! If I wanted to count my presents I could cuz most of them are in my dads closet as we are speaking

I didn't vote on the poll but I usually get over 25 presents.I NEVER ask for much though. I'm an only child so that might be why. Just because someone gets lots of gifts doesn't necessarily mean he/she is a brat.

Joking, of course...I only asked for less than 10 things, but I'm sure I'll get more, as I have other people that give me gifts all the time...last year, I think I got like...20 gifts, plus a HUGE bag of stocking stuffers.

That's about what I get also. I do agree that seeing peoples' reactions to your gifts is the best part also.

30+ I suppose. Im spoiled. Yah, I ask everything. :lol: Whenever I go shopping or see something on TV, I make sure to point it out on TV. I ask every year for a Chia pet, and I never get one. :mad: They say its 'cheap'. So?! I love the things! Hell, get me about 10 for Christmas and Id be set!:D

Every Christmas I get 1 present from each of my sisters so it would be 4. I also get about 3 or 4 from my parents. Everything else is either a check or gift cards and that would be 1 from each set of grandparents and one from my cousins so it would be 10 or 11 presents. Probably not much but it doesn't mean I'm disappointed with what I get.

agreed. i'm an only child in a fairly large family, so count in that plus my friends and i usually get over 25, not like it's 25 large things though.

my mom used to give us alot of presents but my stupid dad hardly gives us any so counting the presents from relatives and friends i'll probably get about 15.

I give about 40 gifts and receive about 15, but that's okay by me.

I know a lot of people that are receiving only a few presents this Christmas; I am indifferent how many presnets I receive, that is not the purpose of Christmas..The true purpose of Christmas is not what you get but what you share and gave yourself..To me having my family around is more important than how many gifts I got...

for me thats all that matters - i wanna be surprised, and I want people to be surprised and like whatever I took the time to find for them.

this year all the surprise has been spoiled - i'm not shopping until Dec 25th next year, and i'm going to lock myself in the closet for the 3 weeks leading up to it....

Well...I don't have a very big family, but my mom and dad buy me and my brother a pretty good amount of stuff.

I know one of my aunt's is buying me some really nice jeans.
I'm not sure what my other aunt and uncle are getting me, but it's usually really good. They like to spend a lot on me and my brother.
My other aunts, uncles, and cousins...I'll probably get around 5 gifts from them (Not individually, altogether)

My mom and dad have bought me a lot of clothes, a brand new flute, and I don't know what kind of surprises they have for me from "Santa." Hopefully, it will be a new tv and dvd/vcr player.

So altogether, I will probably recieve around 20-25 presents.

I'll probably get about 4 or 5.

25 or 30 something like that, huge family, but most of those will be from Santa. :happyface

I'll probably get between 5-10 presents this year, not sure though. My parents had to get a new furnace, snowblower and TV this month so it might be less. Doesn't matter, I always like what I get.

The amount of presents my sister and I get vary each year. My mom and dad have a system, which is that they try to spend the same amount on both of us. So while, I may have less under the tree, and my sister has more, my presents are more expensive.

That's sorta how my family does things. I get a lot more than my brother item wise, but his gifts are more expensive. My parents aren't going to go down to the dollar to make things even, but I think they do try to match the prices a little :)

I'm expecting 20-25 things this year, which includes family gifts, friend gifts, etc :)
