I just read the article in TV Guide, where someone says why would a "hot woman" like Carrie marry a person like Doug. I think Doug is attractive, wether he is heavier or not. He has such a great personality. Carrie is very good looking, but hateful alot of the times. I think they fit together perfectly. And how many men would put up so nicely with their wife's dad living with them. Large or smaller, Doug proves looks isn't everything. He has a great personality that show on the show and off.
