Is this show color or B&W? How does it compare with GUNSMOKE?

I have not seen the show in years, but I am certain it was in B&W. I think there was a vague resemblence to Gunsmoke in that the marshal (Dan Troop) was single, serious and sometimes kept company with a working woman in town (she may have been a 'saloon girl', I'm not sure). But the duputy was young and straight, and there was little excitement other than chases and shootouts; not much to tie the central cast together in caring relationships, as in Gunsmoke.
