do you buy it from? Since so many people are switching to dvds, I thought some advice from the pros would be useful. We can learn from your mistakes:crazy:

Thanks!!

Cheapest I can find in bulk (50 or 100 packs). I've never noticed a difference between brand-name and no-name in terms of quality or reliability.

If I was in America I'd buy them from Rima.com who seems to beat all their competitor's prices by a long shot. I have used them before and they were always great.

Being from Canada, I've since switched to TigerDirect.ca to avoid border hassles/charges.

There's good deals on eBay too, but that's more dodgy than buying from established companies imho. Note: steer well clear of a media seller called "dvdtech2002", he is a thief as many feedback comments will confirm.

I've only bought two different kinds of DVDs: Best Media (generic) and Princo. I bought the Best Media brand off of eBay from danherring (http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=danherring&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50) because he specified in his ad that this brand would work with my particular machine. These discs kept freezing my machine up, and when I contacted him, he admitted that he'd "found out from Panasonic" that these were not good for my machine. He charged me $10 for a replacement set, which ended up being Princos. I also paid for the return shipping.

As far as I'm concerned, I got ripped off by this seller (his lousy feedback should have given me headups), and after that experience with the generic brand, I'm leery of trying others. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

By the way, once you find a brand that work best for you, do a google check to find the best prices as prices vary dramatically.

Philips DVD+R machine, I use TDK, Memorex, Verbatim and Fuji

Panasonic DVD-R machine, I use TDK, Memorex, Fuji.

I tried a no name disc in my Pana machine and about half froze, so for me, I use NAME brand only.

ALso, if you watch the weekly ads, they can be had for cheap.
Best buy has 50 packs of Memorex plus r and minus r for $50 this week.

Hi, I'm from Canada also and I buy from rima.com regularly. You can't beat their prices, and that's saying quite a bit since I have to pay the exchange rate + the Taxes up here.

I just got an order in today and after calculating a per disc price with the exchange, shipping + taxes I STILL ENDED UP PAYING 60 cents LESS (per disc) than the best price I can find up here in Canada.

I have a Pioneer burner and the Princos (4x) work GREAT!!

I find another website for Canadians just yesterday, with even better prices than TigerDirect.ca. Although, they are out of stock on several items and currently do not offer the selection as others. But if they have what you need, you're laughing.
