She has proven she thinks she is too good to play Buffy again. She said she guest star on Angel this season and backed out.

Gellar Says No to Buffy Return

Sarah Michelle Gellar has further broken the hearts of Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans - she has turned down the chance to recreate her famous TV character in episodes of spin-off series Angel. Buffy creator Joss Whedon had offered the actress the chance to return to TV in 2004 to play Buffy in two special episodes of Angel, but she has turned him down. A disappointed Whedon says, "She feels it's not the right time."

Alyson (Willow) is still going to guest star this season on Angel.

ugh, this sucks.

Am I the only person who thought Buffy got to the point (ala Happy Days when Ron Howard left) that they could've just changed the name of the show and focused on everyone else, and maybe just have Buffy call, but never seen (think Happy Days).

Yes, SMG was the star of the show, but I think it was the ensemble that kept Buffy going as long as it did. I would love a Willow, Xander, Spike (?), Giles, Dawn spinoff, where Buffy might be around, but never on camera (think Nile's ex-wife on Frasier).

SMG will always be Buffy, but count me in as someone who loved the supporting cast just as much, if not more.

When people get rich and famous, they get too big for their bridges and think they are the STAR and leave the other supporting cast out in the cold!!
