View Full Version : Mrs. Oleson's been murdered!!!
jayman75 12-17-2003, 12:56 PM This morning I caught the episode where Laura sees Nels Oleson "kill" Harriett by cutting her head off. There were all kinds of good things in there that I haven't seen in a long time.
The end freaked me out, when the head came bouncing down the stairs and Nellie started screaming. Classic!
Anyone else remember this great episode??
hawaii five-o 12-17-2003, 01:57 PM You scared me!!! I thought the actress who played Mrs. Oleson had been murdered!!!
Yes, that was a funny episode. The Olesons crack me up.
Bugiddle 12-17-2003, 05:02 PM This was a great Halloween episode! I remember watching it when it originally aired. It did seem a little too scary/gory for a prime-time show, however (especially in the '70s). I was at least 12 when I saw it, so it didn't freak me out, but I can see where it would scare the living daylights out of kids under age 8.
EricIdlefan 12-21-2003, 01:21 PM I would agree that it made me both laugh and puke at the same time to see her head on a platter!!
Mijada 12-21-2003, 04:11 PM I remember that ep. One of my favorites.
passionsfan79 02-12-2004, 11:17 PM I remember this one to. i wanted to record this episode last year on tbs when they still aired it but my dumb timer messed up so i missed it only cught first 10 minutes

It's "The Monster of Walnut Grove," from season three.
Ireneparalegal 10-21-2007, 07:15 PM This was an episode I can add to my "pointless, boring episodes" of LHOTP. I guess I am in the minority here. I just didn't like it.
OH Nuts! 10-22-2007, 10:37 PM Of course Harriet's head wasn't cut off, she was alive and well--cackling and flying through the sky!!
Ireneparalegal 10-22-2007, 10:59 PM I just realized this thread was made FOUR YEARS AGO. :faint:

It's not a favorite of mine either, but at least it's much more entertaining than The Halloween Dream. Then again, a seminar on watching paint dry would be more enjoyable than The Halloween Dream.

Me too, but then I realized that this thread is several years old! I don't even remember the scene about Harriet getting "killed". I must have missed that one! If I'd seen it, I know I would definitely remember it!

I just watched this today. What a riot. And WHY was Harriet taking a stagecoach? Was her broom not working? Love how Laura & her friend get even with Nellie and Willie at the end! A very fun ep!
