I know that Mark and Becky #2 moved into that trailer. Lecy's character would have never moved into the trailer. What do you guys think?

I think your right. It just wasn't in Becky's character when Lecy played her.

I don't think she would have moved in to a trailer either.

This isn't an insult to Lecy, but Sarah looked like she had more class.

I can picture the first Becky in a trailer park, but not the second one in a million years. She looked like she belonged in a mansion.

Well, its not so much the way they look, but their attitude. I think the first Becky would never want to live in a trailer.

I think then it's fair to say that neither one of them would want to live in a trailer park.

But in the actual episode, she didn't mind moving into a trailer park.

That's how the script was written. If Lecy had stayed, she would be reading the same lines and feeling the same emotions.

The trailer home storyline makes no sense to me. It's a dump, and we're supposed to believe that they think it's fine and dandy.

I think the scripts would have been written differently if Lecy had stayed on. Writers would write with a different actress in mind, plus in the read-through and rehearsals, lines are sometimes adjusted. Personally, I think if Lecy had stayed on the entire time, they would have written her differently than they did for Sarah Chalke, in addition to their differences in acting and delivery. But we will never know for sure.

Little confused here. Are you saying that Sarah's Becky is the type to live in a trailer home?

No, what I'm saying is that if Lecy had stayed on the show the entire time, the character of Becky would have been more consistant, and she would definately not react well to living in a trailer. Unless the character had completely changed, which is possible, but if she was similar to how she used to be, she wouldn't react as well.

I disagree, you guys are giving way too much praise to either a) Lecy Goranson or b) the writers. When a character does something out of character it's natural to want to blame it on something like an actor change or ratings stunt. Friends is my show and I felt the same when Rachel suddenly got the hots for Joey. The point is by the time Becky moved into the trailer park, EVERYONE'S character on Roseanne was somewhat distorted, look at what happened to Jackie for instance, she couldn't stop screeching. The bottom line is, Roseanne by the latter seasons had these concepts like 'I want my daughter to live in a trailer park' because it's a white trash thing to do and it should be funny right. Just look at the header for Roseanne's own website! Lecy as Becky wouldn't have changed the storyline at all in any major way IMO.

I think Becky 1 would have moved in a tralier to get away from her parents. Darlene would have never moved in to a tralier. Tralier parks aren't that bad.

It seems that the Becky character changed a lot with the two actresses. Becky (1) lived in a trailer with Mark at one time (dont know the ep. but I remember Becky telling her mom she wanted to go to college and they had to lift the trailer up cause the bathroom or something was leaking)

Also I noticed and it may just be me, but there is not as much interaction with Darlene and Becky (2) as there was with Becky (1). And Becky (2) does not call Roseanne "MOTHER" and she is not as demanding or argumentative with people. I liked the original Becky she was feistier and I dont think she would have lived in that trailer.

I also dont think the writers would have been writing the same thing if the original Becky had remained for the whole 9 years. I believe she would of had more screen time, and they would have added her to the plot a lot more. I think the writers gave a lot more of the drama and interaction to Darlene once the original Becky left even when she was replaced Darlene was still the child star of the show.

You know, I'm not so sure on that one.

Going back to the orginal thought of Becky's in a trailer, I see Becky #1 in a trailer more then Becky #2. I also liked Becky #2 better. She went better with Mark. And on how the show went, its all in the writting, you could have changed becky a third time, im sure things would still go as plan.

I doubt Becky #1 would have moved into that trailer. She was always the charcter that wanted to prove herself better than her parents. But there are few things her charcter wouldn't do that the second becky did. The first becky would never have degraded herself to work at Buns either.
