23 years old here. I will be 24 in a couple months.

I was in 3rd grade when Unsolved Mysteries came on Wednesday nights on NBC at 8:00

Some cases still scare me as much as they did when I was in grade school.

heartofgold, you were born one day before my 10th birthday.

I watched UM when it first broadcast and I was OK with it until 7 p.m. Wednesday April 25, 1990. I know the date without even looking it up. I was in sixth grade. That was the episode about Teresita Basa, who named her killer from the grave. I don't know why that one affected me the way it did. It was really scary to me at the time, and whenever that one comes on Lifetime I change the channel. If I'm not mistaken, the next segment on that show was about a bowling alley murder/robbery in Las Cruces, New Mexico, but by then I was too spooked to watch the rest of the show.

So yeah, I'm 26.

We all remember the show from the 80's. Many of us just happened to be in elementary school when we started watching it.

I'm 32, born in 1971. I remember watching the special Unsolved Mysteries, before they made it a series, back in high school. To me the most scary thing about Unsolved Mysteries, even more so than the stories themselves, is the music. The original music, not the new stuff that Lifetime has been using. That music was just the most eerie thing ever. It would freak me out so much that when they would use the music to go from segment to another segment, I had to turn the channel.

I recently turned 20 (born '84), and ive been watching UM for as long as i can remember, but none of my friends would watch it so i could only talk about it with my older sister. Haha man i thought it was only me who got scared of the music. I thought i would grow out of it but nope im still get a bit creeped out by it, even in broad daylight. Yeah yeah i know, im a scaredy like that :p. I'd hide under the blankets and see if anything was behind me. Another thing that scared me the most were the sketches, esp the black and white ones, and they'd zoom into their eyes for what seemed like mintues. Gah. Even when UM went to commercial i was too scared to even move, since the last thing they'd show were the sketches.

Oh right, my bad; this thread was for ages :).

Hello. My name is Quagmire. I am 18 years old. My hobbies are hockey and drawing. My interests include long walks on the beach... well I guess I should not say that since I have never been to the beach before. I dont even live close to one seeing that I live one horse town suburb of St. Louis, which could also be considered a one horse town. I guess I was only a couple years old when um started. I have only been a regular watcher for the past few years because I didnt have the balls to watch it before then.

I'm 26. I only remembered a couple segments from watching as a kid, which is what led me to try and find the show a number of years back.

For those interested, the case I remembered most was Jay Durham. I think it was because watching him being carried along by the truck was so shocking.

1983 and started watching in 89. One of the scariest shows ever. Interestingly I watched the new version yesterday and they showed one of my favorite segments the Sara jo. Instead of the highly personalized Hawaiian music start turning to chilling music as the storm started they used heavy guitar riffs. Just lazy production and is exactly why the new show failed.
