You all know that the networks and cable channels aren't really airing ADW as they should, and it could be only a matter of time before OXYGEN pulls it and it's thrust into oblivion forever.

Shows such as GOOD TIMES, SANFORD AND SON, and THE JEFFERSONS are being released on DVD. ADW was just as pioneering as these, and should be released as well in the future.

Go to http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/ and register (it's free!) and take about 2 minutes to request ADW's DVD release! Adding comments wouldn't hurt at all.

Already did, months ago. Though I still believe it'll be a long while before it's released on dvd. So in the meantime, I'm recording as many episodes on dvd as I can between Oxygen and a local station showing reruns. I'll use my homemade copies to hold me over till the real thing is released.

I've got four tapes of Different World episodes holding me over. I call it my "best of" collection. I ALWAYS keep a tape of ADW. That show makes me smile.

Just in case you all have not heard - Darryl Bell who played Ron on A Different World, according to Flo Anthony (radio columnist and Magazine Editor), died last night of a heart attack (Dec. 16, 2003). I have been searching the online news and have not found any stories concerning this situation, however, Flo Anthony apparently broke the story on her radio station today - She stated that heart disease was a huge issue in Darryl's family and in fact his father died some years of ago of a heart attack. According to Flo Anthony, Darryl was around 40 years old. Please keep his family in your prayers. He will be missed. To keep his memory going I hope they put A Different World on DVD -

DWAYNE: "Will you?"
SHAZAA: "Blessed are those who ask the questions brotha!"
DWAYNE: "Whitley, I love you, and if you will have me, I want you to be my wife."
BYRON: "What the hell are you doing?"
DWAYNE: "I'm sorry Byron, I love her!"
MARION: "Die! Just die!
DWAYNE: "Will you have me, Dwayne, as your husband? To have and to hold. In richer, for poorer? Baby please! Please!"
WHITLEY: "I do!"

That scene, in GuLight's signature is probably my favorite DW scene ever. I can watch that 2-part episode over and over again.

Witley: whare we doing?
Dwayne: I don't know
Witley: can we do it again?

Jasmine was great at making Witely both emotional and funny at the same time...
