Could you imagine what it would be like if they had a reunion... a REAL scripted movie reunion (unlike that Cosby Show revisited thing). Here's how I think it would be:
Whitley and Dwayne and 11-year-old son, 8 year-old daughter, 3 year-old-daughter come back to Hillman to accept the naming of a scholarship fund they've created (with his BIG paychecks in Japan and all) for minority kids who want to come to college but can't afford to.
Having kept in touch with Ron and Kim, Whit and Dwayne know that Ron and Freddie broke up about 7 years ago, and Ron is still managing Expression in Virginia. Freddie, last he heard, was travelling across the world with a missionary.
Kim and Spencer got married, but it didn't work out. They had a child together and Kim has custody. She comes back to Hillman from Ohio upon learning that Whit and Dwayne were coming back for a visit.
Mr. Gaines is now co-managing "The Place Where The Blues Will Be Played" with Darnell, his son. The frustration got to Mr. Gaines a while back and he suffered a minor stroke. He now does his TPWTBWBP business outside of the club, and never in the company of Darnell. He still manages the Pit as well.
Col. Taylor and Jaleesa are still married despite the lack of chemistry.
Lena and Dorian got engaged, but never made it to the alter because of their differences. Gina and Lance hooked up and kept the romance from Charmaine for a long time. Charmaine was hurt and hasn't spoken to either of them since. Instead, she and Terrell moved in together on a "just friends" basis that included occasional romps in the sack.
Shazaa and Lena got together after she broke up with Dorian. Their political passions brought them together during the Clinton impeachment mess. They did not stay together for long, because once Freddie and Ron broke up, Shazaa followed Freddie around the world. Lena graduated and moved back to Baltimore to better her old neighborhood.
