I read on Tvshowsondvd.com that the Family Guy series may come back to tv because of strong dvd sales. The same can be true for Here's Lucy!

HOWEVER! More people will buy the dvds if they are closed-captioned, and the dvds are not scheduled to be closed-captioned.
So be sure to send a quick email to:

studio@tvclassics.com

It can be simply:

SUBJECT: Close-caption Here's Lucy dvds
(so the company will see the purpose of the email without having to open it, in case they have large volumes of email.)

MESSAGE:
Please close-caption the Here's Lucy DVDs.

Remember, closed-captioning means that more people will buy the dvds which will result in larger overall sales of the dvds and so TV Land may even consider adding Here's Lucy to its lineup and perhaps The Lucy Show!

Just imagine if each person at each of the message boards he posted this on sends an email. That could be a pretty impressive amount. Like you said, he is determined. :)
