Not at all..that is pretty cheap....especially for 33 episodes... passionsfan79 12-13-2003, 10:39 PM i think its to much i would say around 30-40$ for 33 episodes Lady T 12-13-2003, 10:46 PM What 33 episodes do you have? and from what show?...I would pay big bucks for a show that you have searched and searched and you cannot seem to find any body that has any taped episodes of, then I will pay good money, but if it is some very popular show, like Happy Days or Leave It To Beave, then I would NOT pay a lot of money for... Agent 13 12-13-2003, 10:50 PM It entirely depends upon how many minutes long the episodes are as well as what speed you're talking about. Agent 13 12-13-2003, 11:36 PM That's $20 per tape. TVFactFan 12-13-2003, 11:37 PM Originally posted by americandreamsfan03 i think its to much i would say around 30-40$ for 33 episodes $30.00 for 33 eps??? So that means if someone wanted 3 eps i shouldn't charge them nothing-LOL Even if you said 33 that still is only a $1 a episode. So According to you I should take time out of my day to copy 33eps on TWO tapes and mail the tapes off. All for an amount tht is lower than the number of eps they are requesting-LOL YOu must be HIGH off of something. TVFactFan 12-13-2003, 11:41 PM Originally posted by Agent 13 That's $20 per tape. No it's under 2 dollars a episode. Plus it was two 8-hour tapes that will have 16 eps a PIECE. So you can say $30.00 a tape. Which is STILL UNDER $2.00 a episode. Lady T 12-13-2003, 11:44 PM Hell, I just paid 40 BUCKS for an entire season of a show that only ran for one season..that I searched for all over the net and could never find anyone that had any copies...then I finally find someone and paid big bucks for a show that most people said was a crappy spin off of a classic:rolleyes: "Oh well Different Strokes for Different Folks"....:D Agent 13 12-13-2003, 11:45 PM I don't like to criticize people that charge too much (i.e. siblis) because it's a free country. Supply and demand and all that. We don't have to buy from the higher end sellers if we don't want to. It's a buyer's choice. But personally, I wouldn't spend that kind of money. Besides, I have plenty of stuff to watch without having to dole out the bucks anymore. :D Lady T 12-13-2003, 11:48 PM Originally posted by Agent 13 I don't like to criticize people that charge too much (i.e. siblis) because it's a free country. I believe - like those of you who have posted that the amount someone is willing to pay for a show - is subjective. I think what it comes down to is if - you as the seller feel like you are really being fair in what you are asking and the buyer is willing to pay the price - that is all that matters. However, I do believe some people charge wayyyyy tooooo much for their shows and for those people who can't afford to pay the price - that is too bad. Especially now that people are burning dvdr's - once you get the first set finished - it doesn't take that long to burn subsequent sets. I do realize that vhs recording can be more time consuming - but, for those pros out there...it really doesn't take that much effort to pop 2 tapes in and push two buttons...play & record. I have also encountered people who tend to charge more for shows that are higher in demand because they paid someone else more for it and they want to "earn" some of their money back. My take on this is that you can still get you money back on those shows charging people a fair price because if it truly is a "rare" show - there will be a lot more people looking to acquire it. Besides, you would have never purchased it in the first place if you didn't want it for yourself...unless...that is - you intend to "profit" off of selling copies..... I have spent a lot of money buying complete sets off Ebay and have been disappointed more times than not in the quality I have received. I'm learning to ask questions like: are there menus so I can pick which show I want to watch and not fastforward through hours of nonstop shows and hope I land at the beginning of a show (don't buy Rocko's Modern Life on dvdr off Ebay if you don't want to receive a set like this!); Is a label included and if so - is there an episode list or just black magic marker scribbled on the label; is there cover art on the dvd; how is the audio quality;...and the list goes on and on. I do not expect "studio-released" dvd quality from pre-recorded shows when I buy or trade from someone. What I do expect when I pay a lot of money for a set is a product from the seller that - they themselves would be pleased to receive. $20 a tape seems a bit steep to me....but...I'm sure someone is willing to pay it. I guess you will find out with how many buyers you have out there. I would hope that would include new, quality tapes, too.:) musiclvr14 12-14-2003, 06:30 AM Originally posted by nannyfan I asked a similar question on a previous post about how much is fair to pay for dvds. I had to pay over 100 bucks for a complete series of Punky with 88 episodes, which was way over priced and outragious to charge that much and that was AFTER Rachel Green stole $60 from me when I tried to first buy punky from her, so technically I ended up paying over $160 for punky!! But yet at least I'm being reasonable and fair when I sell punky to people tho. Like selling 88 episodes for only $54.10 TOTAL and that INLUDES the cost of 5 brand new video tapes, and priority mail shipping with delivery confirmation! So thats less than $60 for 33 episodes, and less than $1 an episode too! I also let people have their freedom and choose what shipping and pricing they want like if they can't afford to buy the whole series at once, then they can buy half first then half later, or even just buy one tape first and they can even choose which episodes they want from all 4 seasons if they want! It doesn't seem like you can get any of that on ebay LOL! So even tho I got my money stolen and then paid over 100 bucks for punky, at least I'm selling at reasonable and fair prices to earn my money back little bits at a time to make it affordable for other people as well. nannyfan 12-14-2003, 12:50 PM Right on musiclvr14:clap: I have to ask; though, why did you send her another $100 after you received nothing for $60? I think I would have cut my losses after $60....why did you continue to pursue the set from her? musiclvr14 12-14-2003, 08:27 PM Originally posted by nannyfan Right on musiclvr14:clap: I have to ask; though, why did you send her another $100 after you received nothing for $60? I think I would have cut my losses after $60....why did you continue to pursue the set from her? LOL no I meant that after Rachel Green stole $60 from me and I didn't get my tapes from her, I had to look somewhere ELSE to find Punky tapes and I paid someone ELSE - a 2nd person, over $100 bucks for the tapes. But yeah I sure wouldn't pay anyone $100 after they just stole money from me the first time LOL! But I wanted those tapes bad enough and wouldn't let Rachel ruin it for me, so I kept trying with other people & got the tapes anyway from someone else even tho I had to pay even more for it. But Rachel still owes me that money she stole from me too, so hopefully authorities can get after her butt for fraud and make her give me my money back too, so she can't do it to more people and think she can just get away with it nannyfan 12-14-2003, 09:39 PM  ...that makes more sense!!:D |
