Who was George based on and why was he so miserable? For a guy who thought he was inadequate, he sure dated some attractive women. Not to mention a dream job with the New York Yankees!

MillenniumMan831 12-13-2003, 02:51 PM I think I read on the board that George's character was loosely based on Larry David himself. I have to think that George's character needed something to complain about at all times . . . almost like a social masochist. He always found something wrong with the most gorgeous women (so did Jerry, but he was higher up on the totem pole), the easiest jobs, or anything else. George never seemed to want to see himself succeed. He loved pity and I think he just wanted a reason to yell all the time.
