View Full Version : Leah's Real Life Wedding Show
Viola_Fuss 12-13-2003, 01:38 AM Anyone watch as Leah took you through her whole wedding-- the planning to... baby conception at her gyno's? Looking back, she said something like "I have to be pregnant by September because I do a TV show..." I was like...huh? If they aren't writing it in, why not wait til the show's about to close up for the season and then be like....4 months along at season's end when no one can tell. But obviously pregnancy makes her blow up like the Hindenburg. What did you think of her gown, her choices, her vows....her.....languange??? She's a little too "in your face" for me.
the truth 12-13-2003, 07:50 PM Language? Why, does she swear a lot? :) :D
seven_to_shea 12-17-2003, 07:05 AM I always thought Leah's attitude was part of her attraction, she's not just some bland valley girl.

I agree 100% her attitude is why I like her.
Dilly 12-27-2003, 09:28 PM Will the show be repeated? I always that the role of Carrie was Leah playing herself. I've seen her on other shows and her characters are all very similar.
I'd love to see that wedding show.

I love Leah and everything but she swears way too much for me. I couldn't believe it. I also thought that she was like Carrie but she definately is not. Carrie can hold her own and she does not cuss like Leah. Leah girl I still love you but you need to tone it down some :)
DianeChambers87 01-03-2004, 06:09 PM I like the King of Queens and happened to be channel surfing when I came across the Leah Remini thing on I think it was VH1. First of all, no offense but just the fact that she would do a reality show on her wedding was kind of well a little strange. Most celebrities would prefer the privacy rather than that much exposure. I also found her to be a bit trashy on it...especially her language, and the fact that they showed her going to bed and suggestively having sex with her fiancee. After that show...I kind of don't like her that much.

Carrie doesn`t cuss because she is on network tv.
Dilly 01-04-2004, 04:07 AM I can't believe I missed that show again. Anyone know when it will be repeated?
Dogma66603 01-04-2004, 04:40 AM ..do not make posts like this again, if you do you will be banned!

And Leah may seem a little trashy, maybe she is, I still like her though :p

You're right and she does have writers too. I still love Leah and her wedding gown was beautiful.

I do agree to some degree that it's odd seeing her that way. But at least she's not being fake about how she really is. I mean, a lot of celebrities are probably the same way. I would rather her be genuine than fake. I can't stand people who are fake.

saw this yesterday. I laughed so much. They did a good job on editing the show. I laughed when Angelo took off his clothes in front of the camera and embaresed Leah. I coudln't believe he did it. But I guess most guys are not shy to take off all their clothes. Then when she was at her doctors office and he wanted to do that exam and she said "Gross!" LMAO!!!
Her dress was beautiful!!
I do wonder if some of the stuff was scripted. I forgot to look and see if there where any credits for writers.
Anyone know how tall Leah is?

Your right, but there's a difference between being genuine and keeping some decency...there are certain things that should not be out there on celebrities like when they are sleeping together, go to the gynocologist, have their periods etc. That type of thing is private....well at least in my opinion.

I agree, I would keep things like that private, too. I guess Leah is just a very open person.
gggsssaaa 01-05-2004, 05:37 PM Leah was disgusting on her real life wedding show. I've always tried to keep a grounded perspective of actors/actresses but I must say that she really let me down. Her bleeped swearing and arrogant manor was enough to make me puke! Everybody was following her around and doing everything for her like she was royalty. She really needs to get a reality check! When the "King of Queens" is done with, does she really think she will be able to hold her own in another show? Look what happened to the "Elaine" actress that was on Sienfeld. She can't get a decent gig herself and she is far more talented than Leah. I really don't want to be so negative about people but these Hollywood types sometimes just get to be very tiresome.

I personally think Leah could get into another successful show. King of Queens isn't as popular as shows like Seinfeld. Seinfeld was huge and Julia Louis-Dreyfus became known as Elaine and everyone expects her to be Elaine. That is probably why her show didn't make it. I don't think people would think of Leah as just Carrie.

Amen to that, sistah! I don't need to know that stuff. It wasn't like I thought she was Julie Andrews or anything, but it did reinforce the fact that I think she's vulgar and coarse at times. Come to think of it, she's immature in real life as she in on the show...so maybe she's playing Carrie in her truest state.
Dilly 01-06-2004, 11:12 PM Well, now that she's pregnant, lets hope she cleans up her act and behavior. Not very becoming as a mom-to-be.
gggsssaaa 01-07-2004, 12:02 AM Dilly and Viola,
It is very refreshing to hear others respond about the virtues of being well mannered. I was beginning to think that nobody had the courage to acknowledge that being decent, kind and modest was important anymore. Yes, Leah may have burst a few bubbles out there but what can we expect from our current culture and it's embracing of moral relativism.

I never encouraged the way she sometimes presents herself. I never said it was the way people should live. I do think people should be well mannered. All I said was at least she's being herself and not acting like someone she isn't. And that whole thing was very profound, especially the last line.
Viola_Fuss 01-07-2004, 12:16 AM Well...I don't want to give the impression I don't curse, scratch myself or pass wind...but if I were a famous person I wouldn't have to say "Look at meeeeeee (doing those things)!" on a national TV show. There should be some dignity but alas, when half these girls are running around with their pants worn past their ankles..whaddahyah expect? True about the motherhood comment!! I bet baby will be soooo proud when she/he sees Mom on this show in like...18 years. Of course by then there will be no morals at all...
Leah does acknowledge her choice of words aren't the best but she realizes that is who she is and is ok with it. I don't think it's necessary to use vulgar words as everyday speech but there are lots of people here in the USA who speak just like Leah. I hear it all the time while I"m in the park, shopping, or sitting outside somewhere having a meal. Just because Leah is "herself" for this wedding documentary doesn't make her any worse then those who do it off camera. She decided to not pretend and be someone is isn't. I commend that but did she have to curse like that?!@ I was shocked to see they showed her and Angleo smoking. So is she a worse person for smoking and cursing?
Another thing we forget is that all the footage was editing. How many hours of footage did they have of her? TONS! and they narrow it down to maybe 40 minutes. I know that's not enough time to truely show who she is but the producers need to pick the footage that will get people to watch and discuss thw show. It's all about ratings folks. Maybe the editors only wanted to show when Leah cursed. Maybe she cursed only 30% of the time while they filmed her event. We don't know. I'd say the producers of this show got what they wanted. Folks should be unhappy with how Leah was protrayed in this video. It was bad editing to always show her cursing moments.
gggsssaaa 01-07-2004, 05:30 PM __e__,
Leah wouldn't have had to be concerned about the editing if she didn't talk the way she does in the first place. Who's kidding who here? Leah had prior approval of the final cut, as most of these types of sanctioned shows require. She wanted to be shown as being shocking. That seems to be the deal now. And as far as her "being herself"? Why should someone be commended for acting like a foul mouthed sleeze? I mean, would you pass wind or giggle at a funeral? It is very important that as a society, we don't give a pass for this type of behavior. Manners and rules keep us all more civil towards each other......hence the word "civilized". Maybe she really is a nice person and does have manners, but if this is so, I believe she has sold out to Hollwood.
Is Kevin James any different? I don't know but I sure hope so.

'Fraid not dude!
Kevin James once said that she has the mouth of a teamster and he wasn't kidding. With her, if there's no standards and practices to have to work around, every other word out of her mouth is F this and F that. It's only the network that keeps it clean for prime time.
Sorry to have to burst everyone's bubble and blow your image of Leah.
BTW, Kevin's been known to swear a bit too, especially if you've seen him do comedy clubs. He's not as bad as her, but then again, who really is?

It's already been WELL established that she swears a lot. I don't think you finalized anything about her for anyone.

WOW, that's mean. :(
It's commending that she doesn't care what you think. She is confident enough in herself to not care. Not many people have the courage to stand up and be themselves. Leah has the courage to be herself, that is worth commending. Especially for someone who always has the public looking at her.
I mean, would you pass wind or giggle at a funeral?
Are you saying Leah has done that? I personally have know people to curse at funerals. Why?? beats me. People are strange. Maybe they are mad at the person for dying. Does that make them a sleeze?
It is very important that as a society, we don't give a pass for this type of behavior. Manners and rules keep us all more civil towards each other......hence the word "civilized".
It's to late. Everyone curses, even in the workplace. Some people may not verably curse but they think it so they are just as guilty as those who speak out verbally.
The point here is that people do it. Even actors during interviews and such. In fact, I watched 60min II which had Robert D'niro and he cursed during the interview. Is he a sleeze? Of course not. Actors don't need to be held to different standards. They shouldn't be bashed because their behavior is unlike a actor. Who is the judge and jury on what that behavior is anyway? Non-actors?? Society isn't always right. Just look at all the councils we have to watch over other councils. It just shows how flawed we are.
Actors get their feelings hurt, fart, poop, pay bills, and eat just like all of us. They have flaws like all of us. My guess is most actors don't show there flaws to the public but Leah is the exception. She could care less, well it apprears that way.
by no means take this to mean I'm a pro potty mouth person. I think it's ugly too, but I understand people, including actors, do it and it's not going to stop.

Pitooey 01-08-2004, 12:12 AM Such a pretty girl with such a dirty mouth.
I saw the program and I thought the same thing. Her hubby is a cutie though........ ;)
gggsssaaa 01-08-2004, 11:34 AM _e_,
Sorry, but I'll have to disagree with your summation. I still find it odd that you believe someone should be commended for "not caring what people think". You also state that Leah has courage and that "not many people ...stand up and be themselves". Well, you must not watch much television (perhaps to your credit). I've seen many actors and performers "be themselves" and I find no redeeming quality about it. Time and time again we see these people cussing, doing crude humor, being crass, kissing people of the same sex, talking about drug use like it's "cool", bragging about sexual immorality, denouncing our country, putting down Judeo-Christian beliefs and the list goes on. Now, I'm not saying that these individuals don't have a right to be "themselves", it's just that as such prominant figures in our society, we have allowed them to have far too much influence. So many younger people today try and emulate these Hollwood types, including the very poor behavior many exhibit. I've seen far to many personalities "be themselves" and have come away disgusted and find it rather shocking that you would call this having "courage".
Is Robert Deniro sleazy for swearing in interviews? Yes, that's what I would call it. Maybe bad mannered is a better choice of words. None the less, if society doesn't have a right to decide on what bad behavior is, then we will get the society we deserve. After all, it is society that governs our lives, makes laws etc.
It is not too late, for all of us, to demand not only more from performers in terms of decent standards, but perhaps it is time to demand more from ourselves?

My commending is generic. When people stand out for whatever their reason may be, good or bad, it shows they have a good self esteem. That is how I mean it if that makes sense. Whether or not I agree with the person I still commend their ability to stand up to people.

Your right, I don't watch much tv but of the few shows I do watch they don't incorporate the items you mention. If I happen to come across a show that does, I just change the channel most times. I was shocked watching Leah's wedding showing but I watched the whole show cuz I'm flawed like everyone else.
... it's just that as such prominant figures in our society, we have allowed them to have far too much influence.
It a shame that TV, actors and magazines rule peoples lives. Afterall it's not reality and I think people have a hard time acknowledging that.
So many younger people today try and emulate these Hollwood types, including the very poor behavior many exhibit.
yup, I agree. They are big goobers who have issues and can't think for themseleves.
Is Robert Deniro sleazy for swearing in interviews? Yes
I'm glad to read you're consistent with your view.

I agree but people must want to change, no one can make them. Our society is built on democracy we are not a dictatorship.
vhshunter 01-25-2004, 02:42 AM Leah has another wedding show coming on. This one will be on LIFETIME.
I posted here, so people might get e mail.
