Family Matters. I grew up watching that show and I have always loved it. I also like Step by Step but not as much as Family Matters. Urkel's famous line, "Did I do that?" never got old. I thought it was funny every time.

Same here Brian. I can still watch Family Matters over and over again today and it never gets old, there would very few episodes I didn't like, which is rare for a sitcom. I also liked Full House and Step By Step, but not as much. I also didn't really watch those two shows in their original run(just repeats now)

I agree, Family Matters was the best.

Actually.... ever show you listed (with the exception of Sabrina) is great IMO.

I tried to list the most popular sitcoms from the late 80s and into the 90s(since IMO that was when TGIF was the best)

George Lopez is the only current TGIF show that I like.

I don't really like the current TGIF. It's nothing like it was in the early and mid 90s!

I liked most of the shows listed, except for Sabrina, which I never got into. But Perfect Strangers was my favorite. I loved the slapstick comedy and Balki, especially!

I'm not sure, but I think that Mr. B left Fridays right before ABC chrisdtened their friday lineup as TGIF. My vote is for Perfect Strangers, with Mr. Belvedere closely behind and Family Matters as a distant third.

Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Perfect Strangers & Baby Talk were my favorite TGIF shows. It's really hard to pick the best out of these five because they were pretty much equal in quality, IMO. With that said, I will not vote.

My fav. TGIF sitcoms..............
1. Family Matters
2. Baby Talk
3. Going Places (I know if I had a sitcom, the title would not be going places for me. I live in a very small and boring town.)
4. Dinosaurs

Full House.

I used to watch all those on that poll at one time though. ABC had the best sitcoms in the late 80s/early 90s.

No. I'm Talking about the ABC friday night schedule with 4 30min sitcoms & an 1hr drama show. And it all started in 1985. And it does not include Full House or 20/20. However, it started with Webster at 8pm & ended with Spenser: For Hire at 10pm. Here's the schedule.

ABC 1985-1986 Friday Night schedule
8:00pm: Webster
8:30pm: Mr. Belvedere
9:00pm: Diff'rent Strokes
9:30pm: Benson
10:00pm: Spenser: For Hire

ABC 1986-1987 Friday Night schedule
8:00pm: Webster
8:30pm: Mr. Belvedere
9:00pm: Sidekicks
9:30pm: Sledge Hammer
10:00pm: Starman

Favorite at that time was "Full House", but now I think "Family Matters" was the BEST TGIF sitcom. (Step By Step coming in 2nd).....

The last sitcom ever that I watched on TGIF was "8 Simple Rules..." (2004-2005)....I think it would have fit in VERY well with those other sitcoms, if they all were on together.

"Two Of A Kind" (1998-1999) would have been good, but it just came at a bad time.

I voted for Full House. I, at first, liked "Hope & Faith" when it first started, especially the Ford-Ripa interactions, and whenever Faith Fairfield would bring up a character from her show, and Hope would intone "On the soap", but when it became too much Charley vs. Faith, with the former usually on the losing end, it became too much for me too bear, and I lost interest.

Family Matters for sure. Even towards the end of the show when the premise wasn't there as it was in the beginning, I was entertained by every one of those episodes. If the show makes you laugh every time, then I think it has served its purpose. I also thought all the actors on the show did a great job.

Don't hold me to this, but wasn't FM the longest running TGIF sitcom dispite it moved to CBS in S9 (8 years on ABC)? It even beat out Boy Meets World and Full House. People must have been tuning in even in 96/97.
