The new Becky bothered me. I didn't like her as much as I liked the old Becky...anyone else feel the same way?

She was nice enough but didn't really fit in with the rest of them, she was nice and polite unlike the rest of the Conners

The fight in the bedroom between Darlene and Becky 1 was odd because they were 19 and 21. That was the first episode Lecy returned for.

Yeah and it seemed normal to have Lecy and Sara fighting but it would have been wierd to see Sarah and Sara doing it

She had a totally different feel from the first Becky. I think the show would have been better if Lecy could have always played Becky, but I don't mind Sarah Chalke.

Well if you notice everything they did with Becky's character in the 8th season they purposely did to show the old Becky's back (fighting with Darlene, bitchy, worrying about her life/college, the long to short hair, etc.) But I really liked the 8th season because it brought back Becky's character. I really liked Sarah in season 6 but in the 7th is when the character started to become non-existant.

I like both actresses, but since I started to watch the show with Lecy playing Becky and became accustomed to her style, it was weird watching another person play Becky

Lecy molded the role around her acting style and probably put her own style and personal touch to her character, and in the middle of the show's run they bring in another Becky

Had Sara been the one to start the show as Becky I would probably not have liked her with Mark, and thought that Lecy was not a right fit for Becky

Lecy was more bitchy, tom boyish and rebellious than Sara, and pulled that acting off better, but I dont think that I could see Lecy playing Sara's character on Scrubs.

They should have written the show with Becky and Mark moving out of state for school/job whatever and had them guest star when Lecy was available, but I guess they wanted Mark to stay full time

I like the second Becky. She didn't annoy me much when she talked like the first Becky did.

I hate the second Becky. I really did. She would walk away from fights and was really bad at acting. It seemed as if she was TRYING to act and she didn't pull off her lines as strong as the first Becky did.

I thought it was very funny when Darlene asks Becky in the season 8 episode "Where the hell have you been?".I cannot wait for the season 8 DVD to come out,has the studio released any info yet?

I agree with this. I thought it was fine how things were during early season 5, when Becky would call every few episodes.

Speaking of season 5, Becky was only seen in a handful of episodes, so I still don't understand why they left her name in the credits....in every single episode. She should have been billed in the credits for only the episodes she was in. Since her name was in the credits, she was payed for the episodes she wasn't even in....Maybe Roseanne told them to leave her name there, and pay her, to help her out with college?

And back on topic, I liked Sarah Chalke, but she just didn't click with everyone the way Lecy did...Becky always was the Marilyn Munster of the family, and was supposed to be...Becky #2 just felt like the Marilyn of the family, even if she wasn't supposed to. Something just didn't click.

They should have coached Sarah better on her pronunciation. I could tell she came from Canada when she said things like about (she said aboat). It is a small point, but one family member would not speak differently from the others. She didn't fit in.

Sarah may not have been a good fit for Becky, but she has the most successful after-Roseanne life than the rest of the cast (well, maybe except John Goodman)

She just didn't mesh with the cast well. And because Becky 02. never really had a storyline, I don't know why she was even brought back.

Yeah, I never thought Becky #2 clicked into place. The writters re-established her as someone totally different from the original character. And, who knows why? It wasn't for the sake of Sarah Chalke, because as the new Becky, she remained underdeveloped. (And, Chalke could have been a real asset to the show, as we later discovered in her performances on Scrubs.) The new Becky went beyond breaking the "Becky Mold" for me, too. For instance, I can't imagine a self-respecting Becky #1 EVER finding it agreeable to work at a Hooters-type place. And, when Lecy Goranson returned, it was as if she was directed to act like Sarah Chalke (and not the Becky character), and that didn't work either. She didn't seem to be having much fun in the process.

I agree with this. Sarah Chalke is very good on "Scrubs," so I don't understand why she was so underused. I think that maybe if someone had worked with her a little more to more accurately nail Becky #1's personality, she may not have been phased out. I really like Sarah Chalke, it just became kind of sad how underused she eventually was.

The only time where I didn't like Sarah Chalke as Becky was when she really got on Darlene about not being able to get close to anyone. I was like ahh shut up! Leave Darlene alone. That's just her personality. Darlene does care. The first Becky would have never said that to Darlene. She would have called her Morticia and Darlene would have retorted with big butt! And Becky and Darlene did have a good relationship. They would never have gone around griping about feelings. That wasn't Roseanne. In fact, what made Roseanne great was that they could show such great, real relationships without lets talk and work on our relationship. They were better than that.

Lecy was my favorite Becky. Sarah Chalke as Becky did bother me in the beginning.

The second Becky didn't fit the role at all. But Becky as a character was kind of out of place anyway, she was like the oddball of the family. They were all snarky and mean and sarcastic, but honest and likeable too. Becky just seemed like a self righteous bitch.

IMO, the Becky character was a snobby bitch, it's just that the 1st pulled the "bitchy" off better. In fact she was so good at playing a bitch, I have to wonder if it was acting for her. No I didn't like her. I would laugh at her lines, but that was because of the writing, not because I found her funny.

I LOVE Becky #2, hated Becky #1.

Becky #2 contrasted better with Darlene. I thought with Becky #1 they were trying too hard to make her more like Darlene

Sarah Chalke as Becky#2 didn't really bother me. Personally, I think she protrayed Becky in a way that made her seem more grown-up and mature which I know a lot of people took a negative response to and said they liked Becky#1 better. Honestly, people had to expect this because obviously she couldn't play Becky in the same way that Lecy Goranson did because it wasn't her doing the role anymore so they had to tweak the character a bit to better fit with the actress. As a fan of the series, I will admit that I prefere Becky#1 better only because I think she was funnier and was better in her delivery I think. Also I think she had a lot more chemistry with the cast than Becky#2 ultimately did.
Something else, Becky#1 was over her heels in love with Mark so much that she was willing to run off and marry him at a young age. When Becky#2 arrives she starts having doubts about her relationship with Mark.
