Has anyone here ever written to Richard Dawson or Charles Nelson-Reilly of Match Game fame? And if so how long did it take them to write back?
I've written to Richard, Charles and Brett Somers (the three regular panel members) early this last summer, and so far the only one to write me back was Brett, who wrote me a very nice letter and sent an autographed picture that I didn't even ask for. I received hers a couple of weeks after I wrote, but I haven't received anything from Charles or Richard yet and was just wondering if I should just presume that my letters were lost in the mail and write them again, or continue waiting. I know some celebrities can take months or even years to get back to their fans and wondered if this was the case with them.

I've never seen these autographs from "Match Game" including Richard Dawson ("Family Feud" sidekick), Charles Nelson Reilly and Brett Somers. But, the ones I saw it from Ebay was an autograph of Betty White and the rest of the "Golden Girls". All four "Golden Girls" casts are not part of "Match Game" except Betty White. She was on the same show before she played the role of Rose Nylund on "The Golden Girls".

If you don't mind my asking, Did you include a s.a.s.e. with your letter? This is one of the biggest reasons that celebrities never respond.

If Cathy doesn't get her pic, I've already written to Richard, asking him for an extra one for her...I think I sent my letter on 12-20-03.

I know Richard is often pretty slow in responding to autographs. It seems from dates I've seen (their letter sending date & the autograph receive date) that Richard waits and send out a lot of autographs at once, so it sometimes takes 8 or 9 months before you get a reply.

Yes I did.

And from what I've seen from friends who didn't send an SASE, he still sends out things anyway. I just thought it was rude not to.

Which you can't fault anyone for not wanting to go to the post office all the time. That's a hassle. I'm there enough sending out ebay stuff.

Either than or it never made it. My dad works for the post office. I know what happens to things. ohno:
