I just watched this episode for the second time, and now I really appreciate the EXCELLENT acting of Tim Daly and Steven Weber in the final "showdown" scene....

Both of these guys are superb in this scene. If you videotaped it, watch it and check it out...

The way that Joe goes from the "I can't believe that you did this" laughing to bitter and FURIOUS anger is great...and watch Brian during the part where Joe points his finger at him.
Brian's eyes nervously dart back and forth between Joe's finger and Joe's face....as if Brian's expecting Joe to take a swing at him any second. That "darting eyes" bit is very subtle, but it was done beautifully (and VERY realistically) by Steven.

I'm finding that sometimes I watch a "Wings" episode the first time and I'm so wrapped up in the story that I miss the little acting touches that the actors give us....They are ALL such a talented group of performers!

What about Antonio trying to get even with Brian, but using his own money! :lol:

Oh, man...I lov ethis show. it sucks ass that it is on at 2:30am though...but I work overnights, so it's no problem, excep twhen i have the night off.

My mom got me hooked on that show back when it was on NBC, and now I've gotten my girlfriend hooke don the re-runs.

yeah, pilotguy- i totally agree with you. I was thinking the same thing as i was watching that scene. I noticed that the first time, though. I always notice the acting on every TV show. I think that's why I'm so picky with TV shows. If the acting is bad, I don't like the show. lol. and then when the acting is great, like it always is on Wings, that just makes the show SOOOO much better for me.

Well, a LOT happened in that episode, but here goes...

In rummaging through the charred ruins of Helen's house, Brian found his dad's old suitcase (undamaged). The suitcase contained an old photo of Joe and Brian as kids with "You're Rich" written on the back (because they had each other).

Brian brought the suitcase to Joe's office and showed Joe the photo, hoping that it was soften Joe up...but Joe wasn't moved at all. He STILL wanted Brian out of his life and business.

Later in the episode, just before Brian was stopping by to say "Good-bye", Joe saw the ghost of his dead father, and Joe and his Dad had a long talk...and Joe realized that he still needed Brian in his life.

(Frankly, I thought that the "Father's Ghost" scene was a bit bizarre and far-fetched, but what the heck...it kept Brian on the show!).

Just as Brian was popping his head in Joe's office to say good-bye, Joe said, "Brian....Don't Go."...and that's how the episode ended...the closing credits came on RIGHT after Joe said that.

There was one absolutely HILARIOUS scene in that episode.....a part where Helen is trying to get back at Casey for burning down the house.....

Helen digs through Casey's closet and finds the most glamorous, expensive dress of Casey's that she can put her hands on....then Helen wears it to the lunch counter and proceeds to do all kinds of sloppy, messy "lunchroom"-type work with the dress on. She's filling plastic ketchup squeeze bottles with ketchup from a big pot (using a soup ladel)...and she's purposely slopping ketchup all over the front of Casey's dress. As she's doing this, she's calmly talking to Casey: "Well, honey, this was the only dress that I could find because all of my stuff was burned in the fire...and these ketchup bottles HAVE to get filled", while Casey is watching her in wide-eyed, open-mouthed horror! It is one FUNNY bit!

It sure does Pilotguy. It sounds like quite the episode, and I'm sorry I missed it. Wings had a knack for combining humor and drama. Helen's dress scene sounds hysterical.
