1. American Idol. I thought it was the stupidest show, until i watched it, and then i became hooked. :)

2. Full House. Because it was a dumb episode, but i caught a good one, and found the Full House humor :D

Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie (Can't believe I didn't like those!) I used to get so excited when the opening came on I thought it was a cartoon but then it turned out to be a live action show, then I got so ticked. But now I actually kinda hate cartoons, LOL!

Will & Grace is the only show I can think of right now. I thought it was stupid, but then my local WB station started playing it from the beginning and the show was funny. I like it, but not love it.

I was never a big fan of Ally McBeal, but I started watching it when Robert Downey Jr. joined the cast (most likley to see if I could tell if he was high or something) But I really started to the show.

For me, it's "The Nanny." I used to not like it b/c of Fran's voice and all, but now that I've given it a chance, I'm hooked!

The Jeffersons & M*A*S*H.

I used to hate The Jeffersons when they first came on N@N because they moved Happy Days to a different time slot and would refuse to watch it. Then, once Happy Days & Laverne & Shirley got kicked off and realized they wouldnt be back, had no choice but to watch it.. and now I love it! M*A*S*H, I think before I was so much younger thought it was for 'old' people, but its hilarious.

Ditto here.

Besides The Jeffersons, I used to despise Mary Tyler Moore and Sanford and Son but now I love all three shows.
I tried to give both Newhart and The Bob Newhart Show a chance but they weren't near as successful as the ones listed above.

Cheers - i never watched a single episode's original airing (i think it started out because it was on at the same time as one of "my" shows or something) but grew to love it in reruns....

Hogan's Heroes. I thought it was too complicated. Now it's my fav.

Fresh Prince. I don't watch it now, but when it debuted, I thought it looked sooooo lame. I watched it and laughed my ass off.

Ooooo! I used to watch Cheers when it was still in its original run. But by the time I was old enough to watch it, Nicholas had been gone for a few years and Shelley Long had since long left the cast, so I remember the Kristie Alley years the best. My mom was a BIG fan of Cheers when it was still on, so I remember watching it with her. :)

As for one show I didn't like...God forbid. I can't believe I used to HATE it....But, Mama's Family. I used to catch it on TBS in reruns a number of years ago ('98, '99) and thought it was stupid and a horrible show. It wasn't until about 2000/01 that I finally started watching Mama's Family again and FINALLY saw the humor, so I started watching regularly, and LOVED it. And what's even better, I got to meet Mama herself in person! :cheer:

This is interesting..."Sister, Sister" - used to think it was just plain stupid. Well, I was on a Disney Cruise last March, and whenever you turned the TV on, there was Disney Channel (of course) and they'd either be running Sister Sister or Toy Story 2, so I sort of got hooked on it on the Atlantic! I don't watch it all the time now, but Jackee Harry is hysterical!

Another one I used to love but can't really tolerate now is Cheers...I think Nick @ Nite just played it TOO much...:(

I can remember seeing my parents watching The Andy Griffith Show and wondering how anyone could watch such a boring show, and in black and white no less! There weren't any laser battles or monsters or anything like that in it!
Then a few years ago I actually started watching it myself and found that the nice stories and gentle humor contained in that little show was just as good, if not better, than all the special effects in the world.:)

I know I already posted on this thread, but I have to add another show, Murphy Brown. I never watched it when it was on Lifetime, b/c I thought it was a wanna be MTM show, but I'm watching it now on N@N and am hooked! I kick myself now for missing out on it back then.

I used to despise "Friends" -- now I own 8 seasons on DVD, it's one of my favorite shows.

I also hated "M*A*S*H", but have since grown to like it, I'll get the DVDs eventually.

First off, as a child, I didn't enjoy any sitcoms. That changed when my friend in middle school introduced me to I Love Lucy and The Andy Griffith Show. Now, I'm a fan of many different classic situation comedies.

My first impression of Futurama was a bad one. Now it's one of my favorites.

Also, Spongebob Squarepants. Hated it at first, but now I'm a fan.

Finally, Star Trek: Enterprise. Hated the pilot, but now the show is the best Star Trek I've seen in YEARS!

I have to admit that I never thought I'd watch "Full House" - seemed like it would be far too treacly. But since I have N@N and TVLand on all night, it was inevitable that I finally caught a few episodes. And I was surprised to find out that it wasn't as cutesy-ootsie as I thought it would be, and that it's actually pretty funny!

I never watched "Roseanne" when it was first on, but started watching the syndie version, and now it's one of my favorites.

I think it sometimes depends on the episode of certain show that makes you like or dislike it.I saw an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond for the 1st time and didn;t like it,but i saw a second episode and it made me laugh, and since then I watch it all the time.
There are even episodes of shows I like, that sucked.

When The OC was first announced, I was like "oh hooray another dumbass teen soap." I watched the all-day marathon fX had and I loved it.

I was prepared to hate Melrose Place when it came to style. I watched it for a few weeks, and when they replaced that godawful Sandy with Jo, and then Amanda came on, it rose up to being one of my favorite dramas of all time.

Let's see...
Mama's Family, I remember it from when I was younger and really didn't get into then but now that I am older, I love it!
The King of Queens, when I first heard about it I thought it sounded stupid but I watched and now I love it. I love Leah Remini.
Everybody Loves Raymond, when I moved in with my roommate he watched it and I had never even heard of the show. He had me watch it with him and I liked it. I can't get enough of it.
Three's Company, same as above. I remember it from when I was little. I didn't really get into it until I was older, I guess I didn't understand it then. ;) I love and miss John Ritter.
Happy Days, I never really watched it even thought it was a classic show but recently I started watching it and enjoy it.
That's all I can think of right now.
