I missed the run on Comedy Central when they aired the 5 unaired episodes. I managed to pick up 4 of them in trade and I am now only missing one. Anyone have this? I have much to trade.

I remmeber that show - it was celebrated for making fun of show business, which is pretty nervy to do when you're in show business! :) Too bad it didn't succeed - maybe it would have helped Jon Cryer's career so he wouldn't have to appear in that dumb sitcom "Two and a Half Men" with Charlie Sheen! :p

TRIO aired Teddy Z last December as part of their TV Too Good For TV celebration. I remember during it's original run I thought it was mildly amusing (although I couldn't believe it when Alex Rocco won an Emmy playing Al Floss), but when I tuned in last year, I couldn't remember why I had liked it.
TRIO may air it again. They recently reran East Side, West Side, another series that aired last December.

However, if this isn’t a perfect series (https://www.nytimes.com/1989/09/18/arts/review-television-the-famous-teddy-z-mailroom-to-press-agent.html), and the storytelling is sometimes gratingly idea-reliant, the characters in the office are all well-crafted, and the show (https://www.itwasathingontv.com/e/episode-272-the-famous-teddy-z/)’s writing is consistently funny, with humor coming both from the lampoon of Hollywood culture as well as the leads that have been created. I can’t say that I wish the series (http://thelandofwhatever.blogspot.com/2019/05/what-mightve-been-famous-teddy-z-1989.html) ran longer — as I’m not convinced it ever would have become more genuinely character-based in its storytelling (like, say, the similar The Larry Sanders Show) — but it’s a memorable short-lived comedy, with several likable entries that are propelled by their funny ideas. Although it’ll never be a personal favorite, I can appreciate what it does offer.
