"Showgirls" which starred our very own Elizabeth Berkeley, came in as #76 on E!'s Biggest Celebrity Oops! 'Showgirls' expensive budget, low profit, extensive use of stereotypes, and portrayal of actual Vegas entertainers is what was used against the film.

They showed several B-level celebrities give their comments about the film. One of the "celebs" claimed that he only watched the film because while he was watching "Saved By The Bell" he always wanted to see the one with the curly hair naked. Eliza of "Clueless" compared the film to cheap porn. At least a real critic, Richard Roeper came to it's defense. He called the film, "A camp classic. The Rocky Horror Picture Show of our time."

They also indirectly quoted the director of the film stating that the NC-17 flop was not the classic he claimed it was in 1995. He blamed the music, and even casting!... I guess Elizabeth wasn't his ideal Nomi Malone.

Oh well... at least she moved on.

Yeah, I have read that originally they wanted to get Drew Barrymore for the role, but she turned it down. In fact there is a scene in the movie where Nomi is taken to her spot in the dressing room, and you see a sign that says "Drew" by the mirror. That was supposed to be a bit of an in-joke or something along those lines.
