I wonder how big the ratings of FOL would've been between 80-85 had it not been up against Dynasty in the ratings. Especially between 1982-1985, Dynasty was one of the top series on television. And while FOL was popular, never got those types of ratings.

I wonder this because when FOL moved to Saturday nights in 1985, the ratings skyrocketed up to the highest they'd been since season 3. Makes you wonder if it could've been a top 10 series or something had it been not against another hot series during those years.

I agree that FOL was facing some tough competition on Wednesday nights that definitely effected the ratings. I was in high school during that time and have to admit http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/redface.gif that I missed FOL during those years because my friends and I were watching Dynasty. Funny how FOL has stood the test of time unlike Dynasty.
