Dear Fans of Unsolved Mysteries,

I am going to explain a story I was just told about today by a friend of mine from Holland. But, before I begin, this story is very very horrific and gruesome. In fact, I do not know if it is even true. I don't want it to be true. But if you are squeamish, or if you are very highly sensitive, I would not recommend that you read this story that I will write below. Only read it if you have a strong stomach, because it is horrible and revolting.




My friend told me that she heard this story (on the news, I guess)about a Cannibalistic murderer from Germany.

She explained that this man had placed an ad to meet someone, kill them, and eat them. He wanted a muscular, body building type of person to respond.

Well, someone did answer his ad. A body building, muscular young man chose to be his victim. The men made a video tape. I wonder if this film is a "snuff" film. Did any of you see the movie "8MM"? Snuff films are mytholigized. Snuff films are supposed to show a person being murdered. Well, let me get back to this particular case. The video was extremely graphic. It showed them (the two men)together. The body building man cut off his own penis, and they both ate it together. The body builder had taken a lot of sleeping pills. The body builder then went to the bathtub, and was bleeding profusely from his wounds. He then asked the other man to start stabbing him over and over again. The man who had placed the ad started stabbing the body builder again and again until he was deceased. Then the man who had placed the ad dismembered the body, froze the remains, and consumed them later.

This horrible story reminds me of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS...and Ed Gein, the cannibal/serial killer from Plainfield Wisconsin...and also the notorious Alferd Packer- the only man ever tried in the US and convicted for Cannibalism (at that time he was the first).

What I fail to understand is...first of all, why did the man put that ad out? Why did he want to kill and eat someone? Evidently, Psychologists say that he wanted to become close with people, and that is why he ate the man.

And why did the newspaper (or whatever the source was) print the Ad? Did they just think it was a twisted, morbid joke?

There is a final disturbing twist to the story. Many other people also wanted to be the sacrificial victim for the cannibal man.

I haven't heard any iota of the story on local United States news, and I have the feeling that the US media will not cover a story this lurid.

Have any of you heard this morbid story?

There was some small headline on CNN.com a few days ago about this, but I didn't read it. I would assume this is the same case as the one you are talking about. So, apparently there was some news in the US about this. Very disturbing. I'm not sure what would possess anyone to do something like this.

I live in South America and this story has appeared in many newspapers and tv news shows. There are another details about this story that are very bizarre:

About 30 persons wrote to the killer willing to be sacrificed and eaten.

3 other men who answered the ad and met the killer were tortured by him in some sadomasochistic ritual but when they realized that the killing was for real and asked to leave, the killer simply let them go. He wanted to kill his victims with their complicity.

Another details:

Armin Meiwes the killer was 42 and Brend Brandes was in his fortys too. Neither of them was a bodybuilder.

The ads were posted in internet not a newspaper.

In germany someone can be charged with "manslaughter-by-request" if the crime was commited with the victims will. This applies for euthanasia cases. The defense of Mr. Meiwes wants to change the charges from murder to "manslaughter-by-request". The jail time for this charge is about 5 or 7 years.

I understand the video hasnt been released to the press so nobody but the authorities has seen it yet.
