In the early '80's there was an NBC Christmas Special with a bunch of kids from NBC sitcoms in it. I think it was called "The NBC Kids Search for Santa" or something like that. If I remember correctly, it starred the kids from Gimme a Break plus Nell Carter, the girls from Facts of Life, and kids from some of the other shows (maybe Silver Spoons, too?) I can't quite remember who all was on it...

It was about the history of the legend of Santa Claus, and the search eventually took them to Scandinavia, I think.

They kept singing a song throughout..."We're going on a search for Santa Claus...and we're gonna find him..."

Yeah, it was kinda corny, but actually, it was quite well-done, too.

Does anyone else remember watching this?

I wish Nick at Night or TV Land would air some of these old specials from the '70's and '80's in addition to the Christmas-themed episodes of classic sitcoms.

Hmmm...I don't remember Mr. T. being on the special, but he could have been, as the A-Team was on the air in the same time frame, I think.

It'd be really nice, no doubt about that. There are so many shows and specials like that that've been neglected..and they deserve to be shown again, I think. Not just for those of us who saw them the first time around, but for younger generations. Anyway, I also remember watching that Christmas special!
