So when Lucy called Ricky and said there was a robber there, why didn't Ricky just call the manager and have him see if they were okay? :) And where was the guy anyway? He was still there because he said he had to lock up. Didn't he hear them yelling?

Probably Ricky was too busy with Fred watching tv and could care less. The manager was playing 'Babalu Music' in the background so lound that it muted Lucy's and Ethel's screams:lol:

That was one of those eps that had to have been played out more for comedy than how much sense it made.

I think I've seen the show too much because it seems like every episode has one thing in it that bugs me! Like in Lucy and Ethel buy the same dress, why don't they go to the TV station together?

Remember the song that went IT WAS FASCINATION I KNOW . . . well, change the words to IT WAS OVERANALYZATION I KNOW . . . LOL!

OVERANLIZATION has more syllables than FASCINATION, so when I sing it, it doesn't come out right. ;)

....and how come in The Diet, she has to tie that other girl up when Ricky already told her she could have the part if she could fit in the dress? What's up with that?:talk:

I interpretted from the episode that the manager locked up and he went home. The girls were to leave and when they did the door would lock. HE wasn't around. I don't he wanted to wait and wait until the girls were done. On the other hand it would have been nice for him to wait and make sure the girls were safe getting home.

She probably had to make sure that the other girl wasnt around for Ricky to 'flirt with" like on the Jezebel episode ;)

Maybe Fred realized he was breaking his own lease and gave him away. What was his name? Butch or something.

SPLAIN

Hey, that was pretty advanced for a name in the fifties, just think they were a letter away from turning the show into All In The Family, LOL!

That was Butch's sister.

I thought he told them to let him know when they were done so he could lock up and that he'd be in his office.:)

THAT'S MY POINT! Now you're getting it..........

I think I've seen the episodes too many times because the first 25 times or so those things didn't bug me.

Hon, time to move on to The Lucy show, The Lucy Desi comedy Hour, Here's Lucy, the specials, the talk shows, the game shows, the documentaries, the cd's even, the radio shows, there is so much more to this woman that I Love Lucy! Even forgot the movies, the articles, the interviews . . .

Lodee
12-08-2003, 08:12 PM
OMG, you mean she was in other series? I find that hard to believe! I've seen all the documentaries and none of them ever mention any other show she was in.........

SPLAIN

Yep, believe it or not, there were another 327 great shows that had nothing to do with I Love Lucy! And harder to believe, some of them were equal or even better than most I Love Lucy eps.

Lodee
12-09-2003, 02:29 PM
Well I took your advice and watched Your's Mine and Ours. :) Now you know what bugged me about that movie? How come......................Just kidding:lol: It was really funny. Especially Henry Fonda. I don't think I've ever seen him do comedy before.

SPLAIN
12-09-2003, 02:52 PM
Yes, he even had a show on TV that didn't last called The Smith Family. Yours Mine and Ours, the eyelash floating in the Irish Coffee, the skirt that's been shortened, the drunk crying laughing scene, going to the hospital, great great movie!

This ep ranks highly in I.L.L. for its nonsequitors and illogical happenings; almost as much as "The First Stop." Besides your questions,... What was the name of the restaurant and why didn't Fred tell the police when he called them? How slow are the NY police anyway?, as R & F got there from the apartment before the police did, while L & E talked about it being "all that way" (maybe in NY 'all that way' may mean a block or 2 at night?), If the manager was "waiting to lock up," why wasn't the door already locked to keep any late customers out (since R & F walked right in)? This is post-episode, of course, but surely there would be trouble about giving the police a false report, having 2 men falsely jailed, having to pay for the stacks of plates dropped, and maybe the headwaiter would be involved since he was a party to what R & F were doing. But before all this, why would L & E demand to be "treated exactly as if [they] were men," then still expect their coats to be put on for them, doors to held for them, to be seated first, et al? Perhaps that just shows the different perceptions of "equal rights means equal rights" to a couple of generations.

Excuse ME? I would NEVER insult anybody like that, unless i was joking, you have to tell me what context that was in, we are all foreigners, my family came from France and yours from an island, i am the most PRO IMMIGRANT person there is, i still feel bad about our ancestors and what they did to the Indians, we stole everything from them and killed so many. We are all brothers and sisters in a large world, and we should all get along, sorry again, i had to have been joking Karen.

Not quite confused yet.:talk: The French was an intensive course; from the moment you went in the class room it was all French all the time and you had to figure it out yourself what the teacher was saying and they made you practice x3; very challenging
