View Full Version : A Holiday Thought For All Of You....
pilotguy 12-05-2003, 08:55 AM It's hard to believe that it hasn't even been a full year since I became a fan of "Wings" and started visiting this message board!
As the holidays draw near, I just wanted to let all of you know how much I appreciate "hanging out" with you here on the board.
We have some good laughs and a lot of interesting discussions about our favorite show and characters.
NICK can show "Wings" at 3:30 AM if they want to, but it's nice to know that even a graveyard timeslot like that can't keep us down!
Thanks for all of the great discussions, and I look forward to continuing the fun in 2004....and that ain't just the egg nog talkin'!
Happy Holidays to all of you!
Chocoholic 12-05-2003, 12:48 PM Happy holidays, and it is great to be talking here with all you guys.
Just remember on Christmas Eve, don't get little old ladies fired from video stores, don't allow Brian near your holiday decorations or snowmen, make sure your goose wasn't tossed out a window, and do not, I repeat, do NOT eat the last jelly donut!
Mariel 12-05-2003, 05:42 PM I'm new here, but I feel like I've been here forever. Yeah, thanks for all the discussions, guys.
Man, I still feel really bad for that little old lady at the video store. Don't forget to rewind all your video tapes.
Krista2882 12-07-2003, 11:50 PM AWWWWWWW Thanks pilotguy!
yeah, I feel the same way. I'm so glad that even though the show is on at 3:30 AM, and some of you aren't watching it anyore, that we can all still come here and chat about it. I haven't been here as much in the past week or so because I've had a psychotic amount of homework, and a couple of other things going on... And I miss you all!
I always feel better when I take a break from my homework and come visit you guys here at the board. hehe.

Hey, I know how you feel. On the weekends I usually sleep though the 6:30 showing on Nick 2 now.
Unfortunately, my Senior year has been kind of a disappointment so far. I only have homework in Math and English and the rest of my classes are elective throwaways without any extra work.
Unless I'm doing Math or writing a composition, I've got seriously too much time on my hands.
Next semester (after mid terms in January), I have two History courses, American Literature, Math and three study halls. Hopefully I'll be more stocked with work.
Geezum, I thought high schools were hellbent on getting kids ready for college. Not mine. All they care about is that you take SATs and sign up to be accepted for at least one college/university/community college, ect. So you can get out of their sight.
If you get average grades, forget learning to be prepared... that's for the students in enrichment/prep courses!
I have a feeling that by the end of this school year, I'd better get ready to spend the rest of my life working at a dead-end job.

LOL that's how my high school was. I absolutely coasted through with almost no homework, and straight A's. I graduated in the top 15% of my class....
Boy was I in for a rude awakening when I started college and actually had to work hard to get just AVERAGE grades!! aaaah!
Chocoholic 12-08-2003, 12:15 PM I was the same way. In high school, I was an A student, but when I started college, my grades would get worse and worse every year. I guess I just lost interest in schoolwork. I wanted to get out into the working world for awhile. My current jobs sucks of course, but at least I don't have to go home and spend another 3 to 4 hours on homework.

Not only am I fighting my out of HS, but I'm fighting for my driving permit back. I had an anxiety attack (which I rarely have) because instead of cancelling my test, I took a risk and borrowed a strange car I haden't driven in and I didn't have a instructor from the driving school prompt me before I went out because he was busy.
Now they think there's something seriously wrong with me and I had to have a doctor fill out forms and crap.
*SIGH*
Sometimes life sucks ass.
All I want is to be out on my own and live my life!
AgtSkye 12-08-2003, 11:58 PM The reason public high school is that easy is because the government doesn't really care about teaching kids. I think they're seriously dropping the ball.
College doesn't have to be too hard, also depends what you're studying, but just learn to be an active part of your education. You basically teach yourself. If you're passive you won't do anything. Not saying that's what's going on here at all, it's just the difference in going places, or doing squat.

And we all know that the goverment is running on a DSM-IV (medical diagnosis book) currently and they think they know best.
If I ever become a millionare, I'm definately going to give a buttload of money to some schools out there.
