These were sitcoms i watched and didn't know the were spinoffs because they made little reference to the parent show.


Maude-watched Maude when I was 13 and didn't find out it was a spinoff until I was in my 20's


Family Matters-watched Family Matters when I was 12 and didn't find out it was a spinoff until I was in my 20's.

When I watched Family Matters on TGIF years ago, I never knew it was a spinoff, only after I learned about the show "Perfect Strangers" did I know that.

Yes... Harriette Winslow was on Perfect Strangers playing an elevator operator. Carl Winslow, frequently made appearances on PS. That caused the show to have great success and caused Harriette to get her own show playing the same person.

Oh wow.....haha that's a shocker to me! i grew up on Family Matters, Fresh Prince, Full House, and Saved by the bell.

I've never seen Perfect strangers, hmmm it would be interesting to see one of those episodes.

I think there will be at least one episode of Perfect Strangers during the TV Land Merrython Dec. 20 and 21st, you can check that post for info.

Yeah Carl and Harriet Winslow only appeared together ONCE on Perfect Strangers. MOst of the Time, Harriet was seen by herself.

I never watched much of Perfect Strangers, just got my info from info about the show.

I didn't know that Good Times was a spinoff until earlier this year. Same thing with Family Matters.

I'm not even going to comment on Good Times-the Show never mentioned maude for a reason. But yes family matters started from Perfect Strangers.

Good Times....I never knew that Florida Evans was a maid for Maude...until later. I researched several articles and found out it was a fractured spinoff.

Larry from Perfect Strangers appeared on Family Matters but as a different character. Perfect Strangers had already when he appeared on FM. I think it was the last season of Family Matters
