Okay here it is...This isn't my first time using a comp with XP on it...My old computer that died about three weeks ago had XP on it, and I remember seeing a link somewhere where you could go to download something that would get rid of the stupid annoying balloons that appear above the taskbar...I downloaded that thing on my old comp a few months before it died, and now I'm wondering if anybody still remembers or has the link to it. Thanks in advance! :D

you can disable them by opening your registry editor and going to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.
Create a new DWORD value with the name "EnableBalloonTips" and set it to 0. This setting should disable all notification balloons.


If you don't want to mess with the registry, you can use the Tweak UI utility to do this for you. Run Tweak UI and go to the Taskbar option.
