Well I'm glad All in the Family is going to TV LAND because the episodes are longer on TV LAND than they are on N@N. I never understood why

I havent really been a fan of this show.

Well you probably won't find any of the women funny in the show. It will probably be just Archie, George, Mike and Lionel. Oh u msy find Irene Funny. Irene was Edith's friend.

This is great news! :) I'm sure TV Land will give AITF a decent time slot, unlike N@N. I know I'll be watching that weekend! :)

Not sure why anyone who isn't a fan of the show would post on a FAN based board that they're not a fan of the show. :rolleyes: Anywho...I will tune in because I haven't seen any eps recently. I have them all memory stored from watching since 1971. :wave: Thirty years of re-runs'll do that to a gal! :D

Edith did say one thing to make me laugh. She had got a job at the Jefferson's Store and Archie was worried about what the white neighbors were going to say when that saw Edith working in a Black Store. So Archie was like Edith what are the neighbors going to say when they see you working in that store?, what are they going to say?


EDith: "I guess they will just say Hi Edith"-LOL Not realizing what Archie was so worried about. That was the only thing she said to make me laugh.

I need some blank tapes now. I agree with SA. T.V. Land's editing is much better then N@N.

I hope this is not going to be a deal where it is only for a few months then goes back to N@N, like they are doing with Family Ties. Anyway, I'm going to make sure I watch it. I hate the 3am slot on N@N.

Starting January 2, All in the Family will air on TV Land! See the General Sitcom Questions & Discussions board for the full January line-up. All in the Family will air: Mon-Sat 4 and 4:30 p.m. and everynight at 8 and 8:30 p.m
(Note: The Mon-Fri 4 p.m. and every night 8 p.m. airings will be replaced by Carol Burnett starting January 19, but AITF will still air the other time periods.)

I always thought they just used the Nick-at-Nite tapes on TV Land. I don't notice anything different on the two channels. I know that some of the jokes are ruined by editing:

Edith's Class Reunion:
Archie: What the hell happened to you?
Buck Evans: I married a gourmet cook.
Archie: Looks like she's in there with you. (this line is cut, ruining the joke)

They also cut the scene in Birth of the Baby when Mrs. Stipic thinks Archie is trying to rape her, possibly for PC reasons, although the early M*A*S*H episodes still have rape jokes.

Just because you've seen a "few" episodes with tags, doesn't mean they air them all like that. I remember seeing some tags on Nick@Nite as well. I think they might be the same copies as Nick@Nite when they air on TV Land.

Nothing beat when All in the Family aired unedited on TV Land at 10 p.m. I remember they had ONE commercial in between, and it lasted like 15 seconds, lol.

I have never seen a tag scene on N@N. NEVER!

Honestly, how can you tell the difference in a tag line and the regular show lines? Unless you have memorized lines... I don't see how you could tell the difference.

I can tell the difference because Tag scenes are 10-15 seconds-LOL On N@N, you always see the still shot of the Bunker house with closing credits. You don't see that on TV LAND

I wish I had taped those. Although I have 36 uncut episodes on tape from Columbia House, I still want them ALL!
