These are the Grammy nominees, now it's your turn to pick. What's your choice for Album of The Year?

Not that this has anything to do with the Grammy's, because they are only a big popularity contest, but I would pick

Martina- Martina McBride

Justified? the grammys are a joke. my vote goes to an album that's not on the list.

Coldplay A Rush of Blood to the Head

Under Construction - Missy Elliott
Fallen - Evanescence
Speakerboxxx/The Love Below - Outkast
Justified - Justin Timberlake
Elephant - The White Stripes

The cut off was Oct. 02-Sep.03, and I don't think that Coldplay made it. If they were to be nominated, it should of been last year. They were totally robbed.

This year I think either The White Stripes, or Outkast should win. Missy and Justin had good albums, but they weren't Album of The Year quality.

ah damnit. yea, I just did a search online and it said it was released August 27th, 2002. I didn't get it until April or May of this year, so I thought it was released around then. boo.

I am shocked and disapointed that the Johnny Cash album was not nominated. Considering the album got nothing but praise, and it also sold very well, and Johnny also died this year. I thought he would at least get a sympathetic tribute vote. His recording of Hurt is more powerful than anything nominated for best song IMO

I dont mean to be mean or something, but this is my opinion. That song "Hurt" made my ears hurt. It sounded like he was in pain when he sang the song and I dont mean that in a good way. It sucked. I was so pissed when on the CMA's he won like 34390790547 awards and his album wasn't half as popular as all the other ones nominated. I'm sorry that he died, but that doesn't mean he should win everything.

Have you ever heard the original Nine Inch Nails version? Johnny's interpretation was very faithful to Trent's vision of the song. I am not a Johnny fan (almost all the country I like are female artists), but I LOVED the Nine Inch Nails version of the song, so I knew I had to check it out when Johnny sang it, and I was not disapointed.

No, because Nine Inch Nails suck too.

just because they aren't your type of music doesn't mean they suck. Plus, Hurt was probably NIN's biggest hit after Closer, it was pretty hard to watch MTV in 1995 and not see the video, so even if you dislike them, it was one of their biggest hits and most played songs

Like I said before, in my opinion they suck. I was just voicing my opinion and answering your question.

I voted "Elephant," not only for the great music contained on the album, but for the production, as well. The album was recorded completely on analogue equipment from the mid-'60s and the purity of the sound is absolutely phenomenal.

Even though I like the Outkast album, it cannot compare with Elephant by the White Stripes. That album is great. It's definately album of the year material. The quality of the music on that album is 10 times that of the music on those other albums. Maybe 100 times greater than Justified.

I agree. I was completely puzzled at how the country music world was raving over this song! Sure, it sucks that he died, but the song OBVIOUSLY came out before he died...so what's the deal? I never really liked Johnny's music, but I thought this was AWFUL! *cringes*

"Elephant" deserves to win. Going by the cut-off date, it is the best album released in that time period. It...man it is just so good. I have to say that it is my favorite Stripes album, just edging out "De Stijl."

But if we were to discuss best album of 2003, Jan-Dec, The Strokes' Room On Fire is even more amazing than Elephant.

i like seven nation army from elephant but its the only song on there ive heard. and the rest of the nominations suck. well i like evanescence's "bring me to life" but they get on my nerves for some reason, probabaly because theyre nu-metallish but theyre so damn popular (its a long story dont ask.)

st. anger gets my vote. it should be on there.

Out of these, definitely Elephant. It's a pretty good CD even though I haven't listened to it in months, "You've Got Her In Your Pocket" is my favorite song.

Fallen ~ Evanescence.

I think that Johnny Cash did a wonderful job of recording "Hurt". I like the original better, but I did like Johnny's version.

Of course, I think that John Mayer's album should be up there, but I realize that not everyone could have wonderful taste in music. Like me. :D
