I received a message in response to my Edna Garrett site from someone claiming to be the son of Charlotte Rae! I posted it, and I thought it would be helpful if you FOL "experts" could tell some validity of it. It's in my 4/21/2001 entry. My site is unfortunately unpopular due to the misinterpreted title. Are you sure though? This guy seems pretty convincing. Maybe he goes by a middle name? What are your sources?

Well... in a TV Guide where are they now issue last year it mentions her son Larry and the character of Andy on FOL has been widely reported to have been named after her autistic son Andy..

You've been duped. It said his mom (Charlotte Rae)was dead. She's still alive (unless I've missed something). Still, I think you got duped.

He's a fraud fake ignore him. Charlette Rae is still alive so don't believe him one bit.

See, I was right. Charlotte Rae is alive, so he's a fake. You need to remove that from your site.

OK, I can see your point. All sources say that Charlotte Rae is still alive, but I'm still not fully convinced, because:
a) her son would have advance notice of any internet resource if she did pass away, and
b) "Shawn" could still be her son's middle name. It could be Larry Shawn Rae, or Shawn Larry Rae. I mean, how do we know this stuff?
I would want to email him back and question him, but I don't want to offend him in case he turns out to really be her son. I'll email him and let you guys know how it goes.

If Charlette Rae was dead don't you think they would of mentioned it on the news or in People Magazine. SO I don't think she is dead.

This message is a reply specifically to FOL85NatandMrsGRock, but I want others to take note. I realize that there are a lot of children on this board. I started a "Who Are You?" thread that asked for ages a couple of days ago, and I'm very surprised by the number of people who aren't even teenagers here. You had talked about the intensity of my hatred. Well, suprise, suprise--it's not hatred. My website has a point, a WHOLESOME point, and it is found in the entry for 3.29.01. I think all people who grow up watching tv should read it. Whether Mrs. G is cool or uncool is not the point of my site. That's just the framework. Have you seen "Dead Poet's Society"? Robin Williams rips beloved poetry books apart, but only to uncover the truth behind it all. There's nothing wrong with unconventional methods of sharing viewpoints. Thanks for your message.

I like Mrs. Garrett, but I can appreciate good humor. I don't think Bono is bashing Mrs. G/Charlotte as much as just making light of some of the episodes where she did overact. I think that his humor was more light-hearted than hateful. I have seen "anti" sites, and this guys page doesn't have the type of anger and hatefulness that messes up sites like that. I think Bono likes Mrs. Garrett, just wanted to do it for fun tho.

Charlotte Rae is still alive, please don't fall for this horrible trick. And if I'm wrong, I give a million $$
