What was your very first impersion of the show and the charectars and everything when you saw the show for the very first time? Mine were mad and angry feelings because it canceled out alot of shows!

Yeah me aswell. It pushed Threes company back and i hated the show cause of that. But when I gave it a fair chance, I just was hooked. Still am, and I dont see myself stopping my fascination with Cheers.

I hated it at first because I wanted the Facts of Life back on and Three's Company with it and I was like I'm never watching Nick at Nite again! Now I love it.

My favorite show at the time.... was already gone from N@N (FOL), but I didnt really hate Cheers at first.
I thought the promos they had for it were really funny.
(like the ones where Norm & Cliff had to switch seats because they werent used to the other side of eachother's faces)

I was a little ticked that Diff'rent Strokes was gone.
I was looking forward to Family Ties more than Cheers.

I wasnt hooked instantly.... but the show DEFINATELY grew on me.

haha as some of you know (cause we've done posts like these before) I use to be a cosby fan...before that a FOL fan. I was so pissed off at that show Cheers! Ugh!! until my friend told me to give a chance and one night that I needed to go to sleep (which happened to be the night they were starting the Camp Nick at Nite marathons....Cheers the Diane years) I started watching it from "Give me a ring sometime" and was hooked....

I was a HUGE TCS and FOL fan...until I saw each episode 50 times...and it was the same thing over and over again. What I mean by the same thing is that: a kid would screw up, Cliff would do a funny voice, Claire would start ranting, and then the kids would be "taught a lesson"

FOL: One of the girls would mess up, Mrs. Garret would give them advice, they'd go against her advice, Mrs. Garret would rescue them out of the problem, then they would apologies.

ALTHOUGH I liked FOL a lot more than I did Cosby. I LOVED FOL for like an entire year. I liked cosby for 3 months until I found CHeers

haha.... same here.

I loved FOL from the day it came to N@N.
Then the pulled it.... and I went threw withdrawal (havent seen it since)

Then I got hooked on TCS just before it came to N@N.
N@N sort of screwed the novelty of it.
To me at least.... its much more of an afternoon show.
(Full House is too)

Then came Cheers about a year and a half ago.
And I havent left it since.

Ive always been a HUGE tv fan.
The Brady Bunch, FOL, TCS, Cheers

and before that.... it was basically EVERYTHING on TVLand.
I really liked Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, My Three Sons, I Love Lucy, and I Dream of Jeannie.

Wow.... I watch WAY too much TV.
Ohh well.... what can I say.... Im good at it.

The first time I EVER saw it? ****, that was a DECADE ago. No, that was 13-15 years ago. I was a wee girl then. I don't remember how I thought of it, but I remember liking it a lot, and I would sit down with my mom sometimes to watch new eps of Cheers when they aired (this was during the Kristie years). :)

Definitely a progression w/ me. First, I HATED it! Then I sort of liked the Diane years, then Diane reminded me of my roommate and I started to really like it, then I discovered Lilith and loved the show. (Interesting side note, the first time I saw Bebe was in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade singing "All That Jazz" from Chicago and I was like "Who is this woman and who let her sing?")

What year was that parade??
If it was Thanksgiving 1999.... then Ive seen Bebe Neuwirth.
And Im going to pass out.

I think my first impressions were really still the same then as they are now. The main difference is Carla, she used to be my favorite character but, eh, I've noticed how obnoxious she is,

This is funny---and sort of depressing at the same time---reading how you "kids" are talking about seeing it for the first time on Nick.

I grew up with Cheers during it's original run, and feeling "old" at 27 aint fun. Anywho, Thursdays was Family Ties and Cheers night in their infancy. I think it was a "I watched it cuz it was on" thing because I don't have fond memories of it. Watching the early eps now I still feel the same, but the show was still in it's development. After Kelsey came I remember liking it more, and after Woody I really liked it.

But about 1986 I was 10, and a little thing called cable tv was hitting it's stride and I got it for the first time. CBS, NBC and ABC were no longer the only choices and Cheers sadly left my personal line-up for about three years. By 1989, I had caught up with all the movies I had missed in the early 80s, and started watching Cheers again. By that point it was airing twice a night in reruns, had added Kirstey, and the writing had really gotten amazing.

Since then I've been hooked, as Thursdays at 9 and weeknights at 11 were Cheers time. Then around the late 90s my local station that ran Cheers at night succumbed to the newbies and Friends knocked Cheers out of its nightly 11pm timeslot. So when Nick picked it up in late '01 it was awesome, not having seen the show in about three years.

So to hear that it bumped these other networks shows on N@N is bizarre :)
