I haven't seen this segment aired on Unsolved Mysteries yet. Can somebody briefly explain this case?

Yeah that's a creepy case. On June 28, 1991, Gord and Jackie McAllister of Lindsay, Ontario Canada were asleep in there motor home at a rest stop in Blind River, Ontario. They were on their way to Winnepeg for a month-long family reunion. At 1 a.m., they heard banging at the door. The person at the door said that he was a police officer and that they had to move the vehicle. Jackie went to open the door and was shocked to learn that it was not an officer, but a cold blooded killer. He said "I'm gonna rob you, then I'm gonna kill you," and for them to get their valuables. Jackie pleaded for him not to hurt them, but it was all in vain. After the robbery, he shot Jackie in the chest, killing her just about instantly. Gord knew he was next, so he ran out of the door. The guy shot him in the back and foot. Gord rolled under the motor home. Brian Major of Elliot Lake drove to the scene (maybe he heard the gunshots). The killer shot him dead in his car and fled into the night. Eight years later (in 1999), Ronald Glenn West was charged with a couple of murders in the 1970s. He was also questioned for the Blind River murders. Gord McAllister did not tell authorities that West was the killer. The case remains unsolved.

Composite Sketch

Also, what added to the notoriety of the case was that after an initial sketch was done (by hand), Gord McAllister helped to create a new composite using a computer. This was the first time I had ever seen a computer used to make a picture of an unknown suspect.

After seeing some pictures of Ronald West, you cannot tell me that he did not do it. The eyes are what did it in for me.

Actually I think the case has been solved, I remember seeing some updates about it on this board and elsehwere in the past.

Turns out the killer was an ex-cop or something who lived in the area.
