Specifically all those classic, old Rankin-Bass animations from the 60s & others from that era. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Fat Albert Xmas Special, Mr. Magoo's Xmas Carol, Frosty The Snowman, Merry Xmas Charlie Brown etc etc. I saw them all as a kid in the 70s. I used to get all riled up for *days* when I saw the promos for them in the weeks before airing!

My brother & I used to laugh at the dance scene in the Charlie Brown one. With that one little girl tossing her head from side to side & Linus doing that funny shoulders'n'ankles dance! (that *was* the Xmas one, right? Not the Halloween one?)
I think my favorite of all was Santa Claus is Comin to Town. I thought the young Mrs. Claus was SO pretty! The one who sang that solo for him. (btw, they've since CUT that scene from the tv version!) I loved her!

I think today's kids are missing out because they're all available on video now. Takes the magic of waiting for them away.

Those Charlie Brown specials were awesome. Too bad there won't be anymore. :(

I agree, the Christmas specials of today, just don't measure up.

My favorite is Rudolph and his pal Hermie the Elf who wants to be a dentist LOL

I love the Charlie Brown ones. They were on today so I watched them. I hope they play Garfield's Christmas. I love that one too.

I agree kid today really don't know what they missed, by waiting for these to come on. Like you said I used to get butterflies in my stomach just waiting for them to come on. It hard to believe that "Charlie Brown Christmas" is almost 40 years old.

I have lots of Christmas specials on video that I taped off of TV includes lots of Rankin/Bass specials including "Frosty the Snowman", "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer", "The Little Drummer Boy", "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and many more. Beginning this Saturday on ABC Family, a marathon of Rankin/Bass specials and one movie "Rudolph & Frosty's Christmas in July", one of the best Rankin/Bass feature films since the two movies "The Daydreamer" and "Mad Monster Party". I have the Disneyland album from the Rankin/Bass TV special that I saw on ABC Family last night. I listened to it and it has the same thing used in the special.

Oh my gosh!!! "Daydreamer" and "Mad Monster Party", they used to show these all the time when I was a kid and we had a day off from school. Oh those were the days!

Thanks a lot! "Rudolph & Frosty's Christmas in July" was the third and final film for Rankin/Bass 13 years after their second film "Mad Monster Party".

Year Without a Santa Claus and Rudolph's Shiny New Year were my favorites.
