An email I got from Gary's record company:

Dear Cheers fan,

I am writing to tell you about a great new Cheers website: GaryPortnoy.com

In case you don't happen to know his name, Gary Portnoy is the writer and singer of "Where Everybody Knows Your Name"... and he has just released an incredible new CD, "Keeper".

By visiting GaryPortnoy.com you will be able to:

1) E-mail Gary with any questions you might have about any aspect of Cheers- (ie Who was that man who knocked on the door at the end of the final Cheers episode?)

2) Read the fascinating, in-depth story of what really went on behind the scenes with the writing and recording of "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" (and hear Gary's very first "demo" of the Cheers theme!)

3) Hear samples from Gary's new CD, "Keeper", which includes his original full-length version of "Where Everybody Knows Your Name"- for the first time ever on CD! (You can even have Gary autograph it- what a great stocking stuffer for the Cheers fan in your life!)

We hope you will take a moment to stop by and get to know the artist who has warmly welcomed us for all these years to a place "Where Everybody Knows Your Name".

Cheers!!

Singing the blues when the Red Sox lose
It's a crisis in your life
On the run 'cause all your girlfriends
Want to be your wife
And the laundry ticket's in the wash

All those nights when you've got no lights
The check is in the mail
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by its tail
And your third fiancee didn't show

SOMETIMES YOU WANNA GO
WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME....
